Is CoD 4 still thriving on the PC?

I just got an explicable urge to want to play CoD 4 again on PC. I fucking loved that game, I have couple hundred hours in it, and the only reason I ever stopped was because I moved into an area with a shitastic connection. But then I decided that I think I'd give it a go and see how my ping would turn out. So I'm wondering fellow escapists, is the community still good online on the PC?

I think so, when COD MW2 came out, there were certainly a load on MW on Xbox, I don't see it changing that much for PC.

No idea. To be honest what I said isnt exactly much of a recommendation. I profoundly hate MW2's multiplayer, so CoD4's is naturally better than that. On a more helpful note however, I have played some CoD4 online since MW2's release and found it to be a better experience with players who did not irritate me so much.

So... I guess what I said is still true. Have fun!

Yes you will need the patches but you only need to download the 1.7 one and you're ready to go.

And I kind of wish more people would play COD4 on the 360, it seems like all my friends only play MW2. And I don't have it any more due to a terribly unfortunate accident with the sander.

I've been playing COD 4 on Live lately, there is always people playing. For the overall topic as a whole; yes people still play it, it's a great game. Despite what most existing population of the human race will most likely tell you it's far superior to MW2. Most games that have an online community usually don't lose them.

PC community is a lot better than the Xbox I am pretty sure that when people realized how shattastic the multiplayer was for MW2 besides the Blackops that shit is fun went back to playing MW online on the PC
