Is dressing up as Steve Jobs for halloween bad taste?

On the contrary I'm pretty sure "zombie Steve Jobs" will be the Heath-Ledger-Joker of 2011 - or the "do-ho-ho look how daring I am" costume that everyone will think of.

I don't see anything wrong with it, I just see it as obvious. Especially considering how easy it is to create a Steve Jobs/Zombie Steve Jobs costume.

If it were me doing such a costume, keep in mind that we do not have Halloween over here, i'd make a Joke about Steve Jobs and Jesus at the same time, well more of a reference as to how Apple Fanboys treated him like he was God or something. Basicly dress as Steve Jobs and get a big Cardboard Sign, ya know with a stick and all. Write on said board "Well, i didnt beat the 3 Day Record but it still counts"

But then again im just that weird.

Honestly, its not bad taste. Unless you basicly go around as a Steve Jobs+Cancer Thing, you know, fake huge Tumors around your Body and so forth, then no. Bad Taste is literally taking a dead Person basicly and making fun of what they died of, i.e. Cancer in his case. Same with the Steve Irwin/Stingray issue.

The first thing that popped into my head after reading the title was the zombie thing.

What you want to do seems fine. Dressing up as Steve Jobbs for Halloween is about as geeky as it gets. If you want to do that for the sake of honoring him, I dont see the problem. I assume you wont be interacting with anyone who actually knew him.

It may be an odd way to honor someone, but its not like you're trying to shoot a former president to impress a film star you've never met.
