Don't dare imply that vaporware noob HL2E3 can even compare to the incredible benchmark Duke Nukem Forever has set. The Duke has not only kept us waiting for over twelve years, but there has been continuous steam of information, promised release dates, trailers, concept art and practical jokes to keep us on the edge of our seats, bitingo ur fingers away to worthless bloody nubs.
Valve has nothing on that.

Ever heard of the phrase: "Valve moves in mysterious ways.".

They will release it, but just when they're happy with it. Just like TF2 and many other Valve games.

they'll release it in due valve time. IIRC 3D Realms never made a game between "duke nukem" and the canceled release of "Duke Nukem Forever"

How long has it been since Episode 2? 2 years? Sheesh. Duke Nukem Forever is in another league.

If it's not a full fledged game I would be immensely dissappointed 2-3 years for what was supposed to be DLC every 6 months is just absurd. Hopefully its not just a 4-7 hour expansion.

Stupid as shit. I can't even believe someone proposed such a thing. The difference between ValvE and 3dRealms is that ValvE is good at making video games. The Half Life Story arc has been pre-written for god knows how long now, there's so much ambition in the story that it takes a long time to make. Yeah, they're shorter but are you saying they're bad ? Of course not, they're very very good and very very good games take time to make, it took 2 years for episode 1 to come out as well as 2 years for episode 2. It'll be the 2 year marking period next month for it to usually hit it on time which we all know it won't. Wanna know why ? Valve is making LEFT 4 DEAD 2 ! I'm not saying it's better than Episode 3, I'd prefer Episode 3 in a heart beat but I think once they get L4D2 done that'll be it for L4D I really can't imagine them having to make anymore after this and then all attention will be put on Episode 3.

No, you silly. The next DNF would be--

Somewhat offtopic but what happened to the rest of Dreamfall?
This one. Actually, Funcom is working on The Secret World now, so Dreamfall Chapters is a looooong ways off. If I had a time machine, I'd travel to Dreamfall Chapters' release date. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS! NOW!

Also, I fear for Guild Wars 2. It's looking like a DNF (thank God they showed some gameplay, at least)

I would understand if they actually had to develop a new engine or a brand new plot every time, but fact of the matter is that they aren't. If the folks at Square Enix can make an epic JRPG from scratch in ~5 years, I don't see why Valve can't make a short quasi-sequel in less than 2.

They'll release it. It will just take five years longer than it should've. Anyway, I stopped caring the second I played half-life 2. I honestly don't know why it gets such great reviews. It's good; I just don't think it's the second coming of jesus that everyone makes it out to be. It doesn't matter though, as I'm pretty sure I'm the only person in the worlsd who thinks this. Sorry got off topic, yes it will come, just be patient.

EDIT: as soon as I posted I realized the horrible mistake I made, please no one start a flame war with this, I beg you all. For those who love HL2, I meant no disrespect.
QUICK! KILL IT WITH-- Oh...wait. Blast. (This remark to be taken in jest.)

OT: Why, oh why did you have to go and jinx it with the name of that accursed vaporware, OP? I just got to the c**kslap ending of episode 2 for the first time, and now I've joined the thralls of people who can barely hold themselves together. That being said, 'll be happy for it when it comes, no matter how long that takes.

Valve have a history with taking a while to make their games but Half-Life 2 and two of its sequels do in fact exist. Also, they've been working on Episode 3 for significantly less than 12 years. In other words, you're being paranoid.
