They'll release it. It will just take five years longer than it should've. Anyway, I stopped caring the second I played half-life 2. I honestly don't know why it gets such great reviews. It's good; I just don't think it's the second coming of jesus that everyone makes it out to be. It doesn't matter though, as I'm pretty sure I'm the only person in the worlsd who thinks this. Sorry got off topic, yes it will come, just be patient.

EDIT: as soon as I posted I realized the horrible mistake I made, please no one start a flame war with this, I beg you all. For those who love HL2, I meant no disrespect.
The mistake being underestimating how long it takes to make a truly good game for modern systems? The graphical creations and renders take forever, somebody does have to make all of these things. The coding takes awhile as well, especially near the end with bug testing. Heck, the storyline (Which is supposed to live up to what many consider great standards in HL2) probably takes months to even come up with a draft for. And it'll probably change as the project moves forward. Quality games can't be thought up, written, coded, and fancied up in any short amount of time. Not 12 years, no, but I think we can cut them some slack.

I would understand if they actually had to develop a new engine or a brand new plot every time, but fact of the matter is that they aren't. If the folks at Square Enix can make an epic JRPG from scratch in ~5 years, I don't see why Valve can't make a short quasi-sequel in less than 2.
Unlike Square Enix, Valve have made a habit of writing stories and characters well and having good gameplay. I'm sorry, but I just think Final Fantasy X was awful, but most reviewers and fans loved it, so Square Enix hasn't really been given any incentive to improve.

Ok, if they rushed it out, fans would complain it was too crap, buggy and short. They are spending time with it to make sure all the fans will love it and now everyone is saying its the next Duke Nukem Forever. D:

Valve will deliver.

Valve always delivers, with some damn good quality and polish to boot.

Valve is responsible for everything that is good in the world. Some say they invented the Cookie. /fanboyism
