I'm not seeing it, just looks like an amped up version of Killzone 1 with many improvements to me.hippo24 said:Watch this and tell me killzone hasn't at least tried to emulate COD

What a marvelous contribution to the discussion.Eggo said:console first person shooters lol
Realism is realism, they looks similar because they're both trying to look like the same thing.hippo24 said:Watch this and tell me killzone hasn't at least tried to emulate COD

From the first page of this very thread:Indigo_Dingo said:No, what I said was that the game itself shuns thinking. It removes a large portion of the strategic elements from FPSes.Eldritch Warlord said:I used some hyperbole but you did say that the target audience of Halo games shuns thinking.Indigo_Dingo said:When did I say that?

I'm surprised you referenced Call of Duty, rather than Gears of War. Good article though. Well written.hippo24 said:See any similarities? I do. I propose that Killzone isn't going to kill halo, but Call of Duty.
If by phrased poorly you mean "I was wrong and then I lied about being wrong"Indigo_Dingo said:Fine, I phrased it poorly.Woe Is You said:From the first page of this very thread:Indigo_Dingo said:No, what I said was that the game itself shuns thinking. Sorry for misinterpreting then. You are wrong though, strategy is an integral part of middling and advanced Halo play even more so than shooters like Counter-Strike or Call of Duty.Indigo_Dingo said:No, what I said was that the game itself shuns thinking. Yes, Counter-Strike has no power weapons to pick up and very little emphasis on "map-control."Eggo said:Oh really?Eldritch Warlord said:Sorry for misinterpreting then. It's actually very simillar to fighting games in that respect though the map itself is not what you are trying to control in a fighter. Controlling space is very important.Woe Is You said:Just about every multiplayer FPS ever focuses on map control on the higher levels. I can't think of any that didn't.

Eggo said:Im not debating if it SHOULD be stolen but rather IF they are. When you hit someone four lines flash inside your targeting sight to confirm.
There appears to be a crate which is the focal point of the map, and is obviously being captured.
objective is highlighted and visible on HUD
when someone is killed it shows the weapon that killed them displaying both names.
...(ETC)
Good user interface/ideas should be "stolen" and not ignored. Why would you not want a better game?
