Is it just me, or is time going by faster?

Lately I have been feeling that time is going by a little fast, and for some reason this saddens me, I feel like I havent made something of myself or done any thing in my entire life.

Does anyone els feel like that.

I feel the same way.

But I think as years go by our perception of time speeds up so every year seems to go by faster.

Nope, though admittedly you should partake in more memorable activities (like camping or hunting or doing a triple backflip or whatever),because time won't seem to slip away as much if you remember more of it.

Time is going by faster at the moment, because the clocks just went forward an hour.

I get that sometimes. I remember as a kid, older people saying how fast time goes by the older you get. I don't think it's going all that quickly though. I've always found that January, February and, March always flash by whereas Summer and Autumn are lazier seasons.

This is happening to you because you're doing the same stuff a lot. You've probably fallen into a bit of a routine. Your brain doesn't remember the 295th time you went to the store because it doesn't consider it important information. A lack of significant recent memories will give time the appearance of speeding up. Maybe start doing some radically different things and watch time slow down. Time also slows down heavily when there are things in your future that you're really looking forward to, so organise cool stuff to do ahead of time.

His answer is correct. I'm 54 years old and I can certainly agree. Do something worth putting into
your memory.

It was a comment on how all the posts of yours of seen sound like something a trained psych would say.

Well days were shortened by 0.03 Seconds, or something like that.

Plus time is what you percieve, pay attention to every moment of it and you'll suddenly find it slowing to a crawl.
Like the Watched pot never boiling thing.

And yes, I've felt that way before, of course I tend to drift off and lose track of the time, so it's only natural it seems to fly by for me sometimes.

Unusual yes, bad no. We certainly need a psychologist around here, considering how crazy the average Escapist is.

Or to be more precise, you perceive time differently as you get older. Spans of time that seemed to go on forever when you were a child, seem to go by in the blink of an eye when you get older. It's all a matter of perception.

Brilliant Idea!

Oi! OP! Listen to this guy! If you build a watch into a pair of glasses by making them a projector screen or something, then time would literally go at one second per second, because you could be constantly watching time pass.

OT: You could always sit still, and try to make time go by faster .... without sleeping. It works for me, as unless I get distracted by something interesting time seems to move veeeerrryyy sloooooowwwlllyy ... kaaaa-peeeesh???? okay I'll stop now.

It might just be you or it could be because you are getting older. Think about it. When you were 10 (for an example) 1 year would be 1/10[small]th[/small] of your life and would seem longer then when you were 20 because it would only be 1/20[small]th[/small] of your life which is a lot less time. Makes sence to me but I think I've over analysed it way too much. It's probably just you.

It happens as you get older. On the plus side the weekend comes quicker and school year seems to go faster.

YOU DO NOT QUESTION THE BON.

Have you heard of the Basement? Yeah...People that question the Bon are sent there!

OT: Honestly, Time seems to be passing at the normal rate, Although when you look BACK[/I] time seems to have passed very fast, Because you tend to forget how much effort it was to get up in the morning.
