are you like the escapist official phychologist or something?

i mean really
People ask questions on these forums, so I treat them as if they actually want real answers to those questions. Is that so unusual? I guess it must be...
Unusual yes, bad no. We certainly need a psychologist around here, considering how crazy the average Escapist is.
What about me? D: I'm in college training for my Psych doctorate
Depends. How much are you charging for a session?
No idea! Probably less than I should =\ I'm too nice for my own good
But if you charge less, you'll probably attract more patients and end up earning more moneys than you would if you charged more.
I've been saying that about the gas companies for years...

I feel like that's a normal feeling to have. Try not to dwell on the past I suppose. If you consider time, every other person in the world could be seeing the world in what you would consider super slow-mo but how would you know? All you can ever truly be sure of is your own perception of the world. BAM! I'm gettin' all philosophical up in yo grill.

I challenge you to spend three full days staring at a clock. No breaks. No passtimes. No rest. Nothing. THEN tell me time is going faster.

Time has felt like time is going by faster for me too. The only time it hasn't is when I didn't sleep for a while. That made it feel like it was slower.

Hmmm well apparently those massive earthquakes we have been having were so strong that they shifted the world forward in time.

I think time appears to be going faster because we are living in a time where everything has to be fast. We have fast food. We have deadlines. We have people losing sleep to get more done. We have people living there lives, struggling to do everything, without much montent to rest.

We are in a time where slow is not really seen. We do not see people living in the moment, or taking the time to really take in something. When that happens, we really do not see time as it has passed, but rather a list of things we need to accomplish. We are living from each moment to the next, and are always focused on getting to the next thing.

I know my birthday was late in March, and I was so focused on getting to my birthday that I really did not spend much time with the rest of March. I practically missed a whole month. That is not a bad thing, but it shows my point. The more focused we are at reaching a point in time or a later goal, the less time we will spend focused on the present. We are so looking forward to reaching the future, that it is really all we focus on and we do not experience the entire time of the present, which makes time seem faster.

Technically, yes. I don't remember when it happened, maybe New Years, but the Earth's rotation sped up .036 seconds. Don't quote me on the exact time, but I do remember that it was a decimal.

yeah every person of moderate age says that it increases as you simply get older.
other influences are how much you enjoy the things you do every day.
Things that make my time fly are xbox, napping, and school when you get used to it or enjoy it.
a weird thing though is that pretty much everyone i talk to at school agrees that this was a very fast year, and sophomores in high school seem to have slower perceptions of time, but for a senior the year is lightning rapid...the gap is closing up for some weird reason....

maybe its 2012 (2012 is bullsh*t, im joking XD i seriously am though)

Strange. I've felt like time has been going slower recently.
I noticed I had had moments like that, where the days and weeks seemed to just drag on and on. I think, comparing that time to when time seems to go faster, it is because I really did not have anything to look foward to.

Any time I really have nothing to look towards or anticipate, I tend to focus on what I am doing more, and when that happens I tend to feel and notice how much time I am spending on what I am doing. It is as if I am not distracted with thoughts of the future. I am more focused on what I am doing now, that I really feel more of the time I am spending doing what I am doing.

Time does seem to drag on for me, because I have nothing really to carry me through the day. So I spend my time and notice the time I spend during the day.

If you stop paying attention to time it goes by slower, but then again if you have things to do it becomes more of an inconviniece than a stress reliever.

there's actually a name for that its called the time lapse theory
basically it says that the longer you live the shorter your perception of time goes
and even more basically when you were 5 years old an hour seemed like a long time but when your 20 it seams shorter because you experienced more of them, then when your 50 it seems even shorter and so on.
hope that helped
