Well, we'll see after Reach. Will Bungie keep their promise and deliver a new IP, or will it just be another Halo clone?

My general outlook on a forum populous drops a little every time I see a "am I the only one" thread.

The answer is always no.

I consider milking making next to no differences each game with no real effort put in year after year.

So considering this is the last halo game they make before they make a new series (then have their soul consumed by activision and start making cod 19) I wouldn't say it's milking, especially if you see the massive differences in the game.

If anyone says Reach and 3 are the same game, they are simply a lying idiot who hasn't looked at the game. Now if they say they don't like it fair enough, but it's very different as a game and certainly not milking.

Does anyone else feel sorry for the new company who has to make a halo game after bloody reach? That is one hell of a task.
Yeah. I can see your point. I was unaware that Bungie was merging with Activision.

So rhinos too look like master chief it's not just me.

on the note of the thread if they where milking it they wouldn't stop making them after halo reach and halo reach forge mode makes it look like they are trying new things and expanding on the game before it ends instead of just releasing it with more guns and a different campaign. also with the new forge mode the game will properly live for ever.

So, according to you, the first and second ones are good, the third one is decent, and the rest are just for the money. The rest being, lets see... Oh, an expansion! Yes, the expansion was probably for the money, I'll grant you that. What the furk else are expansions for? And you can't even use this argument for Reach because Reach hasn't been released yet. And, from a person who played the Beta, I can say it's pretty damn good.

For that matter, have you paid attention at all to anything going on with Bungie? They're leaving the franchise, legally, after Reach, they can't make any more for ten years. They're passing it on to Microsoft, and they're doing so because it gives them more creative freedom.

And look at the Reach videos! Firefight got expanded way the fuck out there, Forge looks amazing and huge and epic, the story trailer looks pretty damn good, the graphics are amazing, and they've expanded into space.

And, again, saying something milking it for the money after three games and an expansion is just moronic. People ***** about Bungie milking halo all the time and it never turns intelligent. I don't hear anyone saying Square Enix is milking the Final Fantasy series, and I don't even care to count how many games, expansions, and spinoffs they've released.

I will say its iffy, while Halo is not the most repeated game franshise out their, their games could of been better(halo odst and halo3) story and gameplay wise.

Remember when Halo Wars was made? Because it was an RTS instead of an FPS, people acknowledged that the game might differ greatly. And thus, didn't know what to expect.

They can pull that same card again, sadly.

Why on earth do people keep claiming this? How many Halo games has Bungie made? 4 counting Reach and an Expansion turned into a solo game. How many Half-Life games has Valve made? 4, 5 if you wanna count episode 3 that they're developing. How many Sims Games are there including the expansions? How many Call of Duty games are there?

My point is, people are only assuming they are milking the franchise because they are popular. Yet, this is to be the last one they can and probably will make. Bungie isn't doing the milking, Microsoft is and why shouldn't they? Its the series that put them on the map as a console game developer and production team.

Actually, they aren't merging at all. Bungie signed an exclusive 10 year publishing deal for a new IP that they (Bungie) will maintain all rights too. Basically, Bungie gets to make whatever game series they want for 10 years while Activision handles all the marketing/promotion/funding/etc. After the 10 years, Bungie is free to go where it wants (and I'd imagine they could even make other games completely without Activision in that 10 year period as long as it's not within the contracted IP). Essentially Activision gets to sit on it's ass and make money in the way it does best, which is sell product, and Bungie gets someone else to foot the bill for what they do best, which is make the games they went to make.

I'm a bit indecisive on this one, because I really enjoyed all of the Halo games, but Bungie is giving the series to ACTIVISION
That really disappoints me
