Given that I have had several "crushes" on video game characters over the years, it would extremely hypocritical of me to say no. ^^

Rikku (FFX), Tifa (FFVII), Tali (Mass Effect 1 & 2), Leliana (Dragon Age: Origins) and the list goes on. Agian, I don't find it wierd. If the character is fleshed out enough and you find them likeable, why the hell not?

Actually marrying a girl from a dating sim on the other hand, that I do find weird... and extremely creepy.

I think because graphics are so realistic and lifelike nowadays, it's fine. I fancy me a bit of Wesker, but that's probably the voice.
I don't see the attraction with the old pixalated Lara Croft, but I guess there wasn't much around back then >_>

No, it's only weird if you speak of it out loud.

Like if I said I thought Vivian Valure, or ViVi from Vampire tM: Bloodlines was... *drool*

Does anyone else have any crushes on game characters?
Oh hell yes, April Ryan for one. It's only natural, and the more of a gamer you are the more immersed you get into the game, and so the more "real" or affecting your relationship with the in game characters is.

Edit: of course I'm talking specifically about crushes here, merely fancying an in game character is just like fancying a picture on the internet or a person in a film, which I'm sure everyone can relate to. Having a crush is something rather more.

No weirder than fancying a celebrity. You're unlikely to ever meet, or date, either, so not that weird.

Is that a Dark Knight reference I can smell or just general repetition? ^^

Attractive characters are always SUPPOSED to look attractive. If no one sees them in that way then the designers failed at their job. There's plenty of video game characters I think are hot and that's normal. However there is such a thing as taking it too far; it's only weird when you start jerking off to them and holding out on relationships because they don't match your ideal character

(If that sounds familiar then you've probably met a teenage Twilight fan, because lord knows some of them WILL hold out for Edward Cullen - a character who exists as only words in a book and a vacantly staring man on a screen. I know a guy who got dumped because he wasn't enough like 'her Edward')

Since playing Assassin's Creed I find Ezio Auditore rather hot (yes I am a girl).
Glad to see I'm not the only Ezio fan, though he's not my absolute favourite.

Most of mine are too weird to share so I'll put it like this...personality comes way before looks in my strange mind.

Edit: I just read the post above me and god-damn that's strange. I'd never be so obsessed as to pass up or end a real relationship with someone I knew actually cared about me just to self-indulge with pixels, regardless of how attractive their programming was.

Thankfully we're nowhere near developing something that can recreate the virtual in the physical world or all my reasoning and boundries would go out the freakin' window. Damn turians.

not weird at all if your okay with admitting any sort of attraction to a character in a movie, then feeling the same about a game character is no different imo and no more or less wrong/creepy....cases in point:
Movie Character
Video Game Character

Yes, yes it is. It's like falling in love with an in animate object like a chair
Well, I think it's more like falling in love with a statue, actually.
