IF there are any exclusives on it you can't live without, and you can afford it, then yeah. I personally only cared about two exclusives (Ratchet and Clank) and couldn't justify spending $300 (much less $600) on a PS3 just for two games. If there's more it has to offer you, go for it.

I bought my PS3 in October of last year. The first console I had owned since getting an original playstation as a gift. Was a strict PC gamer for all my life, father was a computer programmer in the 80/90s so of course I grew up playing games on a PC. I think my thoughts were very similiar to yours, good exclusives, I was originally most excited about Final Fantasy XIV but thats currently back under development. I have been loving DC universe online, which is also now free to play, so definitely check that out too, and uncharted, god of war, killzone, little big planet all have taken many hours of my time. But the big deal that cemented my choice for PS3 was the free network. Buy a PS3 for $249.99, and you'll get at least 2 more years of solid thoughtful development by sony being put into your system. At $124.99 a year or 13 bucks a month, your never gonna find a better deal for entertainment.

++ Back log of PS1&2 games (both these consoles DID have great games)
Better hardware (slightly not enough to justify)
+ Exclusive titles (not as many as the Xbox and certainly not as good in my opinion)
+ Good online (I personally never play online though)
+ Blu-Ray Player (no blu-ray's either)

--Price
-Security Breach
-PS4?

Personally I wouldn't go for it as the positives don't really affect me.
