My friends and I were having a conversation the other day and for some reason they started talking about a "weird" woman they know, They explained why they thought she was so weird and ended up saying: Yeah she treats her dog like a person, cooks the dogs food, lets her dog sleep with her etc etc.

I said: Whats wrong with that? I let my dogs sleep with me. They were actually really surprised that I let my both of myu dogs up on my bed, even though one was quite a large dog I never had a problem with him not listening to/disobeying me. They say it's just wrong.I don't know why these people seem to think that it's so wrong, Them being dog owners themselves. So escapists, Is it wrong for somebody to let their dog sleep on their bed?

Well, cooking for a dog and letting it sleep on your bed and such I consider absolutely fine. I don't see why they think that it's weird at all, dogs love their masters and I would think that getting to sleep in the same bed as their master would be a high praise for them (I always like to think that). I don't let my dog because the bed is small and he takes up a lot of space, so he gets to sleep right next to the bed instead.

And loving their dog like a human sounds weird to me, at least the way you worded it. For very dirty reasons.

in winter a small warm dog at your feet is awesome. like a never cooling hot water bottle.

i dont see anything wrong with a dog on the bed as long as you arent spooning with it or it has some skin/fur disease

As long as you are not sleeping with your dog, there is really no bad thing about it.
Maybe the people you were talking to are extremely perverted and understood it as "I am mating with my dog".

But then again the probably have a latent beastiality-kink, because otherwise there is no reason to jump to that so fast.

I don't cook my dogs' food, but I've let them sleep with my before. I let my cat sleep with me, too. How is anything wrong with that?

As far as pack mentality and establishing yourself as the alpha goes, letting your dog on your furniture is a no-no. But, it's not that big of a deal to be honest. It's when you start feeding your dog scraps directly from the table when things can start to go really wrong. Your dog is your pal, but they still need to respect you. Letting a dog eat along side of you instead of after you means they are on the same level, which can lead to disobedience.

Nothing wierd with letting your dog sleep in your bed. cooking for your dog can be a bit wierd unless the dog is on some sort of special diet. we dont cook for our dog however when we prepere dinner we usually make a little extra for her.

It's not the healthiest thing you can do, especially if the dog in question is an outside dog.

My lovely black kitten often sleeps on my bed with me and to hell with anyone if they think that's weird.

Heck my old fluffy orange kitty used to serve as a living cushion when he felt in the mood for it (purring cushion=awesome)

Nah, I don't see anything wrong with it. I let my old cat sleep on my bed sometimes.

So long as you aren't actually sleeping with the dog in the dirty way, that is completely fine I would say, doubly so for cats, they are warm and they like being near their owners.

Well I have 2 puppies and a bushy kitten. All of them used to sleep under my bed. I have done a nice atmosphere for them to sleep peacefully. Pets always should be treated in nice manner.
