Is MGS5 most overrated game of this generation?

I dunno, it was fairly forgettable. But can't be as overrated as Quantum Break or Hitman though, can it?

Does anyone really think those games are going to be anything special?

OT - as others have pointed out, the general consensus seems to be fairly meh.

A more interesting discussion would be based around the community perception of Undertale. It'll be very interesting to see how time judges that particular game, whereas with MGSV, it's highly unlikely that time will change people's minds.

What counts as this "generation"? Games released during the launch of the new consoles? Does Undertale fit the criteria? Cause if so, there is no game that is so egregiously overrated that that game.

I didn't like MGSV personally. Everything felt so uniform. The overworld looked the same throughout. It was tough to tell missions and side quests apart. And having to constantly backtrack and avoid/kill the same guard patrols 100 times is really annoying. The story wasn't nearly as good as 4's. Open areas give more options for stealth, but I feel like the game suffers as a whole.

That said, I don't know if MGSV is the most overrated because I'm pretty sure that after the first month it came out, everyone stopped talking about it.
