Stalker: Clear Sky's second generation night vision is extremely useful. If you're roaming the landscape during the night without it, you might as well just play Doom 3.

Surprisingly, I use night vision in the Crysis games to spot enemies at long distance taking cover in the shade. The increased contrast definitely helps me to pick them off.
Also, as stated before, in Rainbow Six Vegas, Splinter Cell, Riddick, etc., night vision is very useful for normal reasons.

lmfao was playing Halo the other day with samaritan.squirrel and my brother and the X button turns on my night vision, but my brother [having never played an x-box before] was experimenting with the buttons, and hit it on in a daylight levelsamonix said:
