I like all people of class, only appreciate the class of the classic 150, all other pokemon are just the toys for common children. My favourite pokemon is Nidoking, even his name has class and he was the only pokemon worthy of gender. *Raises Pinkie*

I think all the overhead Pokémon games are great. Screw you 150/151 purists. You're nothing but fascist pigs.

Pokemon was cool up until a point but the games are still fun as hell.

As for my fave I can't decide between Charizard and Feraligator(sp?)

I think as long as they kept the originals, it was still good, when it was 250/251, it was fine. But then they kept some, dumped the rest, and made up new ones that all looked silly.

Hard to pick a favourate, but Hitmonchan would definately be up there, he had a punch for every occation! Blastoise was also a personal favourate, mostly due to having two cannons embedded in his shell! :]

Honestly tho, all the original 3s top forms were fecking awesome.

The problem with pokemon is that they have no competition. no one else makes games like pokemon, therefore, they can keep the formula the same and still get tons of $$$.

oh right. Favorite was ALWAYS Lapris.

I'm hardly cool but, to a degree, Pokemon is. Not to cool people but it's not bad as long as it's a closet thing. The games aren't as good as they used to be and I'd have to say GSC are the best, you can still get the originals, the new ones aren't too bad and the depth is quite impressive.

Favourite pokemon:

Ooh I'm really unsure... Possibly Gyarados (sp?) because it looks awesome and you can have one before you get out of Mt. Moon if you train hard.

The original game was cool. For those who doubt me, I point out that it inspired a short-lived generation of knockoffs (Jade Coccoon, anyone?), none of which worked as well as the original (shame really; now nobody else is going to touch the basic concept, and there's probabally some really nice implementations of it). And an anime which I think is into its 10th season here in Yankland. And a card game that is still being published. And a pile of video games outside the main series.
Of course, the first one dates back to the days before Nintendo decided accountants could design better than programmers or artists or (heaven forbid!) actual gamers. Now that their entire business model is based on ripping themselves off...
But I digress. My point there is that it was cool up to the point that they decided to constantly re-release the same game with minor tweaks.
As for my fav... hard to say but I'd go with Pidgeot. Personal thing; that effer was the best one I had in Yellow.

Is Pokémon still cool?
RBG/GS are. Beyond that.. no.
They're cool in my mind. So shush.

And as for favourite Pokémon.. Does Missingno count? That was so fun to break other peoples games with in two-player battles.
I also managed to use a Gameshark to give my Venusaur infinate health. My opponant didn't catch on untill I sent out my 7th level 90 Venusaur. Hah.

If Missingno doesn't count..
Probably Eevee. Or Glaceon. I like ice types.

It's not as cool as it used to be, but it's still pretty cool.

My favourite was Meowth and Togepi (sp?) the one Misty had that made the world explode. XD
What where they on?

The games are still fun, even though they've got so many mechanics now that it's bordering on ridiculous. I don't give a good gorram what berries taste like crap or not, or which opponents produce which Effort Values. Criminy, it was bad enough when I had to look up which Pokémon learned which moves at which level.

Still, I'm playing FireRed right now, simply because it's a lot like playing the original games with more balance.

Hitmonchan would have been one of my favorites for all of his multiple punches if his Special Attack stat didn't suck so badly. I really like Scyther based on awesomeness, because he's like a ninja with blades for arms. A NINJA. WITH BLADES FOR ARMS.

And yeah, I still collect the cards. I haven't touched the Diamond/Pearl cards with a ten-foot pole, but I found a comics store that sells some of the older expansions, even back to Jungle and Fossil (although their coverage of the old expansions is far from comprehensive).

Once it got past Red/Blue/Yellow it stopped being cool as demonstrated by the completely lame names they started using.

I played it for the first time ever a few months ago and I was surprised it didn't totally suck (I played LeafGreen just fyi.) It's a neat spin on the typically jRPG, although the fact that you pretty much have to buy a guide or print out a sheet from GameFAQs just to see what all the elements are and how they play off each other is really annoying. I mean some of them are obvious like fire/water/ice, but others, well there's just no way to know. The game should have a built in reference and it should always show you what elements a Pokemon has when you're battling one.
Fire Red/Leaf Green did have a reference in the help screen that you could call up with the L/R buttons.

And the games are still fun, I actually prefer the new ones to the old ones, personally. But the show........WHY?! WHY DOES IT STILL EXIST?!

And my favorites...in order are:
1. Flareon
2. Glaceon
3. Articuno
