A lot of people go clubbing and end up just fine but yes i have never been to a club which does not play electronica or rap so a rock club seems strange to me i would neve know how to dance to that
It's simple. You headbang, you mosh, and you do most of the other drunken wiggles people do in clubs. After 5 or 6 shots most people don't really care what music is playing.
...but that's besides the point...the point is if you read my previous statements i never asked you to change your mind and like rap...I simply asked that you frame your argument to fit the context of the author of this threads intentions.
He asked if we thought it was music. I do not. So I said so, and I said why I think it isn't music. It's nothing but mindless noise used to disassemble shitty American sedans on big rims, and if you can turn the bass down far enough you hear some rich guy yammering on about blastin' bitches, doin' hoes, and putting huge rims on shitty American cars.
There's no storytelling to it. It's just noise.
if you check this out it did not ask whether you like it simply asked is it music structurally.
List of materials to make music:
1. Musical instrument of some sort. Could be anything from a kazoo to a whole brass section.
2. A writer to compose said music.
3. Someone who knows which end of the tuba makes the loud noises to play it.
4. If lyrics are also written you need someone to sing them.
Materials required for rap:
1. Vocabulary of a 12th grader.
2. Gold chains, grilles, whatnot(These come in handy for the photo shoot and music video)
3. Auto-tune
4. The ability to molest words into rhyming while saying them so fast you need a cheat sheet to figure out wtf he's rapping about
5. A computer with which to generate an artificial bass line and throw in some random beeps.
6. A techno guru to mix all that shit together.
Rap isn't music from this angle, either.
is the fact that you don't like the content really enough to change it's status as a genre i mean i'm sure you don't like the content of other songs in other genres of music are they not music?
I don't like Country. It's nothing but QQing(More typical of 'classic' country) and/or making out with tractors(Modern stuff). I think I'd rather listen to rap if I'm honest. But it's still music. It's still made with real instruments, by writers, performed by people who can actually carry a tune, and it isn't blared with only about 200hz of the audible spectrum being reproduced solely to annihilate crappy cars.
your argument is a slippery slope...
I have traction control.

The point of going to a club is to have fun with friends,
Well shit I do that out of clubs all the time. Sometimes it's over my LAN in Garry's Mod, sometimes it's over my friend's shitty Mustang trying to get it to run on all six cylinders again, but I do that all the time.
meet new people, to dance,
I'd rather volunteer as a test dummy in a nuclear test than do either of these things.
Seriously, by the time most people I know including myself were old enough to get into clubs, we were over the "get blasted every time I drink" phase.
You guys are way more mature than anyone in my area then. Also your clubs must be better at sniffing out fake IDs. It seemed every Monday when I was in high school I overheard half the school talking about how blitzed they got at the club the night before.
I mean if you're just a huge introvert, that's cool.
Always have been, always will be. I don't see the point in going out to meet new people I'll never speak to again. I kept out of the social circles all throughout high school.
But the way you describe clubs, it sounds like your city's night life just sucks or you've just never really given it much of a chance.
I value my truck way too much to risk getting it impounded, vandalized, stolen, vomited on, torched, or run into while at or near clubs...
