Breaking my leg, put in a cast for 5 months, gained weight, never did lose it, still struggle with it everyday, currently its hindering me from joining the military.
I always thought that not getting into the army was a good thing.
Um no, its the greatest thing you could do for your country.
One question... Are you brainwashed or something, cause dying for your leaders (not your country) is not the greatest thing you could do.
I said joining the military, you know, to protect the country and your way of life? That greatest thing you can do for it. Learn to read.
The US military isn't protecting the US their bombing the shit out of other countries to change their way of life, there's no protecting going on.
Your obviously anti-American, and against people in the military. Please piss off.
Anti-American? Haha, who are you Joe McCarthy? So tell me how the Regicide of Saddam Hussein protects our way of life? Or how about seizing imaginary WMD's from Iraq? In the last eight years we've seen some the most sloppy, brash, military appropriation ever. I'm all about fighting for this country and the way of life, but this conflict is utterly pointless. You can reduce terrorism, but you can't destroy it, terrorism has existed since society has. This conflict is killing our economy, drawing our attention away from bigger threats and making that entire region not only unstable but more hostile to us than they were before this happened. Also it's just generally a bad idea in wars past to get involved with that whole area around Baghdad, Jerusalem and Mecca, comparatively it's been in conflict and war for five millennia.

Yeah I used to be a stupid non caring child, but a close close friend to me gave his life for mine (he gave his blood to save mine its like a story out of some fantasy but for me its a painful reality, AND ITS ALL THANKS TO SOME STUPID A***OLE ATTACKING US BECAUSE WE DIDNT KNOW WHERE HE COULD SCORE SOME WEED) sorry outburts seem to happen when the reasons come up, but when he gave up his life its like i had an epiphany, and became more like him, Matt was lighthearted and laid back, i was always scared of the future, now im lighthearted and laid back, im one of those people who thought those bad events "would never happen to me" sadly they did, i dont regret my life, and matt chose to save mine, And i look foreward to seeing him again, if there is an afterlife or not, i will see him (wow i got all emotional there...)

Well...I just found out my girlfriend is pregnant. We are in our mid twenties, I have a good, stable job with insurance, but it still terrifies me beyond belief. The good thing is, I've planned on marrying her eventually and we will be great parents, but it's just earlier than I would have wanted. I'm worried about the usual stuff like money. Talk about a life changing week!
Hey good luck and i wish you the best, my friend went through the same thing (though the baby is already born now) and he actually became responsible the last person i could ever see parenting children and hes a good father, hard to grasp, money wasnt a big issue for him, small sacrifices were needed, but none too big, and overall if your glad to be a father i commend you^^

Any one else notice that all the people with animé avatars in this thread have posted real depressing things happening to them?

Changing from private to state education was probably the biggest change for me, opened up whole new worlds that didn't exist to me before.
Kinda wierd aint it?
You know I noticed this, and i contributed to it >.> but wow (i chose this avatar cuz honestly, the good images on my comp look like crap shrunk to avatar sized or else i would have had one that was a label saying "warning: batteries not included - results may vary"

Didn't expect this thread to be such a downer.

The number one thing that came to my mind was my discovery of truly good music about two years. In a short time I discovered so many wonderful bands I have now come to adore and worship. This has changed my life more profoundly than any death in the family, any movie, any news story, or any broken friendship. It's even happening to this day. Every time I discover a wonderful new piece of music I wonder how I could possibly have lived without it.

I suppose my diagnosis of Aspergers Syndrome changed my life in a few profound ways as well. Funny though that the music one is the first to come to mind.

Realising that the whole world was open to me and all I had to do was take it was a very positive and live changing experience. All happened because of a number of things and culminated in me punching a chav to the ground and walking off singing to my ipod at the top of my voice and I no longer gave a damn. Fun.

Post your stories bellow, would you kindly?
Wow, that's lovely. I haven't seen anyone post that on a topic before. Seeing as you've been polite, why yes, of course I can......(even though I did something wrong and am now typing it for the second time...)

Strangely enough, I was just chatting to a mate on MSN, and he asked if I was religious. So I gave him the usual explanation, that I'd grown up going to church every Sunday, then stopped as soon as I could because the other kids at school took the piss, and I wasn't sure of what I believed anymore. And we kinda got chatting about Christianity, and it wasn't anything in particular he said, it was just the fact I could talk about it to someone who understood and wouldn't just rant on about their own views. And now I've found my faith. Which is awesome!
