I saw some mentions of desire for an MMO... definitely an excellent idea... superb actually. if Fallout 3 or Oblivion was an online game... i would not be typing this post right now

I like Bethesda.. but...

I haven't played Fallout 3... yet...

I think my current beef with them is that...

Oblivion was catered toward consoles... and completely dumbed down compared to the greatness that was Morrowind.

don't listen to people's nostalgic lies, morrowind is shit now. oblivion is SO much better. fallout 3 is a oblivion clone set in the future with some slight improvements. so fallout 3 is the best game but doesn't feel that fresh if you've already played oblivion and morrowind is just unplayably bad. its not the graphics I modded morrowind so it looked 10 years younger but the gameplay still felt stoneage, questing is just walls of text and combat is like putting your balls ina a blender

i personaly hat turn based RPGS (my friend still thinks that it stand for rocket propelled grened)mabey it does but i think bethesda is great for there not turned based RPGS.
Pff... it's Rocket propelled Gummybears.
Anyway, are there alot of turn based rpgs?
I mean i can only recall FF 1 to 12, that is 15 games but anyway...
There are hundreds of TBC RPG's. You just don't know many RPG's that's the problem.
I guess... I'll have to do my homework for the next time...
BTW can you name a couple TB RPG for me just now so i can check into it?
SMT Nocturne, Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2, Persona 3 & 4, Shadows Hearts: Covenant, Dragon Quest VIII (I think it was VIII) and Baten Kaitos. These come straight to my mind because they are all great.

I absolutely love TES (haven't played Fallout 3 yet), but I agree with the general consensus. The massive worlds they creat will persist if you DON'T interact with them, which takes away a big part of the immersion aspect. And there's always a way to make your character godlike that sorta kinda maybe just cheapens gameplay

In bethesda games, if you press W and D/S at the same time, you begin to moonwalk. I HATE IT. The biggest immersion killer ever.

I like both Morrowind and Oblivion but they play very differently. One shouldn't compare them. Oblivion has a much better combat system, without a doubt, but Morrowind has more overall content when it comes to factions and such. Then again, Morrowind also has the Ashlands and the like which I thought were incredibly boring. Oblivion is all lush landscapes with subtle differences.
They're just very different.

On Fallout 3.. I never played Fallout 1 or 2 when they were released. I just played Fallout 2 a year ago or something (with a high res patch, because I couldn't stand the close view) and I had fun with it but it got a little confusing after a while. I didn't know where to go anymore. I never bothered putting a lot of time in it after that, because I know I'm spoiled by high end graphics, physics, slick interfaces and more..

Can you make that landscape tingy more clear to me please?
Who had the superior terrain?

Also Fallout 3's DLC isn't coming to PS3, so pardon my french but they are cunts until they rectify this or they release ES V and redeem themselves.
I'm a 360 owner but have no live account so I also can't get the pitt. It would have been nice to get a hard copy, at least for ps3 owners and yes it is extremely cunty of them to not release the dlc or patches for ps3.

I absolutely love thier games, but it makes consumers feel ripped the fuck off when they spend hard earned money on an unfinished buggy product and then release more content that isn't even available on certain formats.

Jesus, the combat system in Morrowind must have been FUBAR to be worse than Oblivion's...

You know what? Fuck what people think about Bethesda, if people are perfectly fine with Halo being the same damn mediocre game for three sequels, and Final Fantasy not changing a bloody thing since NINETEEN EIGHTY GOD DAMN SEVEN then Bethesda is fine.

I love the games, but from what others have said:

Morrowind was really buggy at launch, as was Oblivion on certain PCs.

A lot of people just aren't a fan of sandbox RPGs. They like to be force fed a story like in the FF series.

why is Morrowind so much better than oblivion?
I wouldn't say better, though personally I enjoyed Morrowind more, I think I found it a little more lawless.
The kind of lawless when cops are running down the street screaming I KILL YOU for breaking a lantern or the kind of lawless where the villagers are mugging you back when you are trying to steal their clothes?
The kind of lawlessness where you get a message saying "The strings of fate have been severed, you can choose to continue in this doomed world..." because you killed the wrong dude. Or you've bunny hopped around Vivec's throne chamber interrior after proving yourself a distressingly competent lockpick. Or been told that you need to retrieve the sacred Sanguine raiment when you'd already found half of it and sold it to creeper for tidy profit.

In Oblivion the equivilant would be "You can't kill this character.", "This door needs a key" and "You cannot drop or sell quest items."
