Is there one upcoming game you're desperately hoping lives up to its hype?

Oh god Rome total war 2 so much.
The new type of battles sound cool, the new way of siege battling city's sounds awesome.
Using the melee troops on ships to land is simply epic. (Even if it is rarely done)
The whole thing looks like it rocks - AND the political side lines up for some epic(ly amusing) assassination cut-scenes (it's always been a nice icing on the cake of the total war games.)

If it's even near as good as Rome total war 1 was at the time then I'm probably going to be failing this year of my education and lose all social contact with the outside world.

Honestly, it has to be Kingdom Hearts.

How long ago was the last game?
Like... a year ago? Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance for the 3DS is... well is damn near a numbered title and greatly moves the story forward.

OT: Final Fantasy XV. Damn that game looks so good. Six years of waiting... I hope it is good!
I meant like the last core installment.
Not the bazillion offshots and backstories that riddle the Nintendo DS.
The stories of Birth By Sleep, Chain of Memories and Dream Drop Distance are integral and very important to the story (so is 358/2 Days, but to a lesser extent, don't know Coded's deal) If you have yet to play these games, do, or else you will have no idea what is going on in KHIII.

OT: Grand Theft Auto V: Online, I know the main game will be good, but I really hope this online mode is gonna be fantastic, since it looks like they are going all out on it.

Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies, its been ages since I picked up an Ace Attorney game, I want this new one to give me the same feeling as the others did.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, I didn't like FFXIII, I really enjoyed FFXIII-2, I hope this game really blows me away.

Pokemon X&Y, been looking forward to these...

Watch Dogs, although it will probably collapse under the weight of expectations for some people.

Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag, I loathed ACIII, but this one has me curious, will wait to see it in action, maybe rent it and see how I feel.
My big problem with the KH series is that i hate playing on handhelds so that locks me out of half the story... i hope the handheld games all eventually get a console port so I can actually keep track of the whole thing

Half-Life 3 because considering the fans hype it will descend from the heavens, cure all disease and end poverty.

Another for Dragon Age: Inquistion. I still liked DA2 and ME3, but I know a lot of people didn't, and I'm really hoping that Inquisition manages to restore people's faith in Bioware. I'm really liking what I see so far.

Another for GTA V and also GTA Online.
GTA San Andreas is one of my favorite games of all time. While I never expected 4 to be as good, I do see the potential for the GTA V/Online package to be as good...maybe even better. I can hope but at the same time I wouldn't be surprised if GTA SA is where the series peaked.

Monolith Soft's X.

They already hit it out of the park with Xenoblade, so I'm sure they can make this one awesome as well. Everything about it just looks incredible. An open-world JRPG where you get to explore a ginormous fantasy setting in a flying mech that can transform into tanks, and you get to fight giant magical dinosaurs.
Yep this. I really hope this game lives up to the hype as it is one of the reasons I'll eventually buy a Wii U

There are a few actually...like Thief which will be the first game from that series which I plan on playing. Then there are...

GTA V - which apparently has necrophilia and cannibalism so it already wins in my opinion

Final Fantasy XV - If it's just Kingdom Hearts style gameplay in the Final Fantasy...multiverse...then I'm perfectly OK
with that

Watch Dogs - I can't help but think this will be like Assassin's Creed in that the second one will be the best one (or among the top 5...also, my opinion) but I'm hoping WD is as good as the gameplay trailer we saw a few months ago

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (or X) - It looks great so far but so do a lot of games. This is Monolith however and while I loved Attack of the Saiyans I wasn't completely in love with the original Xenoblade. I'm not saying I want X to be more like Attack of the Saiyans I just...don't really know what I'm saying actually.

The Wii U in general - I want this thing to be a success...it's not going to be a Xbox One or, PS4 but I'm hoping it makes an amount on par with The Wii and is loved as much as (well...more than) the Gamecube...and not retroactively since it seems more people like the Gamecube now than they did back in the early-mid 2000's. [sub]ZombiU is down to $20 in some places for example, BUY IT! it's not terrible and it's survival horror moreso than action horror. You all know you've spent more money on worse games![/sub]

Let's also hope that Nintendo themselves decide to actually localize it and then won't give it to GameStop or something so then we don't have the problem we currently have with people wanting to buy Xenoblade Chronicles. A problem that could also be fixed if there weren't any region locks Nintendo...>.>

OT: For me it has to be Sonic Lost World because I love Sonic and Colors was my favorite so this looks like it's shaping up to be good. Other than that I'd hope that KH 3 lives up to the huge amount of hype it has generated and doesn't disappoint me like how Re: Coded did. (DDD made up for some of it, but loses points for the wacky plot twist)

None at the moment. A few days ago it was Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
Second day of early access at the moment, and apart from a progress breaking bug and a shitload of maintence time, it hasn't really disappointed my expectations. Except for one thing.
Switching classes in the game(every character can be all classes) was made to look like something really simple. Equip a class related weapon and become that class. Looked amazingly awesome. However, all your other gear will become unequipped if the other class can't use it and it's a fucking choire finding what gear belongs to which class in the armor inventory.
If there was a memory setting for what gear you used last time you played that class, or a gear management page where you could arrange gear into macros, the problems would be solved.

Hoping it gets implemented in the future. >.<
There is actually, at the top of the character screen there is a button for setting up gear sets for each class, and an easy button for updating your sets when you equip a new item. I was annoyed at first as well until I found this out.

For AAA games:

-Watch Dogs
-South Park: The Stick of Truth
-Pokemon X & Y (I'm probably not going to be able to actually play them myself, I just hope the new Pokemon designs are as neat as last generation's)
-Half-Life 3 (whenever the hell that game sees fit to actually announce itself, anyway)

Indie games:

-All the Kickstarter-backed RPGs (Project Eternity, Wasteland 2, Torment: Tides of Numenera, Banner Saga)
-Hotline Miami 2
-Transistor

The Last Guardian was something that I was also looking forward to, but at this point its prospects for actually being released don't look good.

Suda51's Killer is Death, kinda surprised no one mentioned it yet. If I remember it correctly it's a spiritual sequel to Killer7.
That was the game I was going to mention (and also Thief 4), it seems to be shaping up to be completely awesome. It better be!
