music is just like any form of expression, if you don't agree or identify with the message, or how it's presented, then you won't like it. I'm an advocate for individuality and expression, but I'm also a big fan of collaboration, integration, thoughtfulness, and technology. I'm really into industrial/electronic/drum and bass, also dubstep has a special place for me at the moment, but like every genre, there are plenty of songs in these genres I really don't like, and plenty outside I like too.
For me I just can't stand rap music. I feel it's just a gimmick, and not poetic in any real sense. I also don't feel the image of the band is as important as the content of the music, so I don't really enjoy watching music videos, I'd rather listen to the music and do my own thing (play games). In high-school I would always get this feeling of people just being so fake, and now I'm a little older I see that there's a huge amount of people in this world that put their fake face on every day. I'm comfortable with just being myself, and I try and not be a problem to anyone else. I just can't identify with people who see an illusion in the mirror.
For me there are 3 types of music:
1. Music I understand and enjoy.
2. Music I don't understand/barely understand.
3. Music I understand and don't enjoy.
a.k.a
1. "good" music
2. "strange" music (we've all heard someone yell "turn that noise down!" at some point, right?) Some strange you like, some strange you don't, it's weird like that. New music is sometimes like new jeans, feels strange at first, but then you're home.
3. "bad" music
