I was about to come back here with a link to better fight scene, but I couldn't find it, so I have to describe it to you. Naruto vs Haku. Spesifically the last minutes of it when Naruto goes full on berserk.
Yes, I agree, but it wasn't the most common type of fight scene in Naruto. How did you feel about Naruto versus Neji or whoever (someone that's not Sasuke)?
Pretty meh, really. Fights in Naruto weren't all that exciting to watch. Some rare exceptions were Rock Lee vs Gaara and 3rd Hokage vs Zombie Hokages and Orochimaru, and even those scenes had some problems.

As a fan of no genre's (anything that isn't ruined with stupid dialogue and terrible execution), I can agree and disagree at the same damn time.

but even some of my favourite anime pump in too much pointless dialogue. There are anime that know how to do it right though just so you know. Whether it's being mainly about the visuals, or the dialogue actually adds to the scene.

I wish I could've gotten a better quality vid :p

Anyway, tell me what you think, if you want to.
Okay, first, The Bebop scene. It's well animated, no problems there. But... that scene where Spike gets kicked while flying in midair. That broke my suspension of disbelief. It looks like it came from Looney Toons. He should be dead.

The other clip. At times the animation looks pretty smooth. And then there's the "just using my blah blah blah % of my actual"-bullshit.

Also, what's with the ending? The kid obviously wants information, but the big guy doesn't give any and wants to die. So, the kid starts to threaten him with death unless he answers his questions? That's, not even remotely going to bring any satisfying results. The guy already wants to die, threatening him with it is just not going to work.

Yeah, you've pretty much mentioned all my favourite fights in Naruto ^^
The Neji fight actually had some interesting bits and pieces, but did have a lot of blabber and it slowed down too often to be really great, which is a common thing with Naruto.

Sorry if this sounds rude, but this question wasn't for you. I was interested in Smygskytt's opinion since he didn't think much of anime (it seemed), and I was wondering if I he could see the positives. I didn't just want an opinion.

So to add something to this, I disagree with you on Bebop because not once did the show feel realistic enough to raise my suspension of disbelief that high. He's been battered about many times before and this didn't make a difference to me.

And your other opinion, do you actually want me to tell you what is going on? They explain how the powers work because some new information was introduced. The reason I believe it works though is because they didn't actually stop everything to just explain, they stay focused, keep moving, and so it doesn't break flow. I don't believe every little detail was necessary, but it's fine.

You will have to understand the characters more to understand the ending. Basically, he hates the clan the big guy is from with a passion and was planning to wipe them out anyway, but since he's never killed anyone before he tried to deter it by offering him a way out (another ability to constrict power), because he already had most the information he needed. However, being sick with hatred left him with no hope of mercy. Driven by revenge from the beginning, it slowly eats away at him and puts everyone at risk, setting up a tragedy (unless saved).

Agreed, Neji actually had an interesting backstory and way of thinking (actually, I would've liked to know more about the Hyuuga clan). It was clearly a missed opportunity when most of it was solved right after the fight in the infirmary.

Same thing with Gaara, he just became a very boring hero while as a tragic villain he worked so well. You understood why his upbringing made him such an unbalanced person.

Sorry about that, I didn't mean to budge in.

A bunch of people on MAL said this was a good fight scene but personally I don't see it what do you guys think.
Onsided, too much talking and they really needed that interior monologue to transfer him fearing death? - I suppose the target audience for this show is 13 or something...

Since Spike vs. Volaju is already here I give you Nanashi vs. Luo-Lang from Sword of the Stranger.

Ah yes. I'd forgotten about Sword of the Stanger, but it was destined to end up on this thread at some point. The music, fight choreography, and fight animation were some of its strongest qualities.
