If you're surprised by that, you obviously haven't lived in the Bible Belt. Shit like this gets made, shows up on shelves, and is never seen or heard from again about 2-5 a year. I mostly try to pretend it doesn't exist as it makes apologetic and sensible Christians (such as my funky fresh self) look like oversensitive dumbasses by association.

Fun fact: the atheist bad guy in this isn't an actor, they just invited a guy from r/atheism and had everybody else read their lines around him. The More You Know.

Heh, as an atheist I find that trailer quite funny. Extremist Christians trying to paint atheists as god-hating egoistic assholes while they are just good, honest Americans trying to do what's right. xD A theme that has been done to death already. Ah well, freedom of speech and all that. As long as they don't start jamming movies/idea's like that through my throat.

Good lord how many Baldwin brothers are there? And that seems like something that would show up on the HallMark Channel

I've once seen a movie like that. At first I thought it was a typical cop film but than religious propaganda was being thrown at me all the time. Showing how one of the cop's atheism was harming him and how everything started going better by joining the great christian flock. If they would have pushed the whole religion thing a bit further I would have been certain it was a satyr... it was that bad.

So no, it wouldn't surprise me the movie you mentioned is real. Shit like that is very real.

This looks like it would be a fun little film to laugh at, A strawman atheist who can have a meaningful conversion just like Scrooge did in A Christmas Carol.

Best line of all is how Christmas is the one time of year the whole world gets together. My Muslim friends from Saudi Arabia disagree.

From the title alone I thought it sounded like a pretty sweet action movie then it turned out to be this tripe.Though I still want to see it for the unintentional comedy.

Wasn't this exact trailer for this exact movie on here a few years back basically asking the same thing? Maybe that was from my dark days in the R&P section...

That's satire. This is a satyr:

OT: I'm sure there's tons of movies like that, most just never get any attention (thankfully).

I think this is a pretty extremist movie (sorry to anybody I offended with that statement)
I think the reaction of the atheist is extreme if he wants to ban everything Christian around from everywhere in sight (or any other religion, they make no difference to that whatsoever) I take that seriously, because I heard it in real life. If they really would not care about a god at all, they certainly would not care more for a wooden cross on the wall than for a bad piece of art
And I think the Christians are extreme for trying to convince him to their beliefs, it is ridiculous. They know he does not believe in their god, so he must be punished/saved. I also encountered that in real life.

To be honest I think this movie shows reality (and the stupidity of it) pretty good.

I am an agnostic btw.

I got the feeling it'll do pretty good in 'Murica.
A well, its the same old same old, but instead of scrooge we got an atheist.

Judging from the last minute or so (with the 'proper welcome' part) I guesstimate that in the end the atheist guy will be turned full blown christian by teh Powaaah of tah loard!

Can we turn it around. Make a movie about some christian, moving into an atheist village. Where everything is "season's greetings" he tries to turn it into a 'proper' Christmas (So Jesus stands, merry Christmas signs everywhere, the whole thing) and then in the end he gets convinced that "season's greetings" is more appropriate.

Well this looks like a fun movie to watch with mates to laugh over. Y'know, because it's sort of hilarious how they are trying to portray a guy who has different beliefs as the "bad" guy.

Captcha: just friends
WHY CANT THEY JUST ALL BE FRIENDS???
