No. It is a normal club-song. Plenty of people will be drunk and enjoy dancing to it. It is not even outstanding.

So please tone down the condescending lingo.
Yes sir. I will keep my opinions to myself from now on instead of asking other people what they think.

Seriously, I have nothing against club music (maybe just the volume it's usually played at). I just think this is a) a particularly weak/lazy example of the genre and b) lyrically obnoxious.

Because listening to this song genuinely got me wondering what the definition of music is and whether or not there's some kind of baseline of rhythmic, melodic or harmonic structure a piece has to attain to be considered music as opposed to just noise. Is there some kind of law against airing these thoughts?
Uhh... you know noise music can be really good, right? I love jamming some Merzbow every now and then. Also there's plenty of industrial music and musique concrète that would classify also as noise that I find really fascinating and enjoyable. Even the extreme dissonance of some of Stavinsky's work can classify as some sort of anti-music.

This isn't noise. It's kinda sloppily put together but it's still pretty conventional, it has a 4/4 beat, clear hooks and discernible vocals.

Also it's not that bad. Lil Jon saves it from being a legitimately bad song, he can just shout the same line over and over again and I can dig it. TURN DOWN FOR WHAT!?!??

Mainstream music is dumb as shit. That's because there's more access to the underground scene(s) these days, so manufacturers need to pump out the most attention-grabbing tunes they can. It's not about peoples' tastes becoming objectively worse, I'd actually say they're getting better.

Well by the start of the chorus the song did make me want to carve my ears out so I would never hear something that horrid again, so this would qualify as pretty darn bad.

But apparently it's actually some sort of gender flame war thing again... I'm out.

well that was awful... i dislike that kind of music anyway, but that seemed to be worse somehow. it might be the inclusion of lil jon, it might be the godawful lyrics, or it might be the sexist undertones, but something seems to make it worse than usual.

Ok I see your terrible song and raise you the actual worst song ever:

And yeah, music is subjective blah blah blah, but if you actually think ^ that isn't terrible....

I...don't even.
I actually laughed so much at that song, I don't even know what that is. My best guess is some "emo kids" doing a song about "da club" and some bloke going "YAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!" in the background. The funniest bit is where they are actually screaming at the girls and the girls look distinctly uncomfortable. If you can't laugh at that, you can't laugh at anything.

Actually, given the cheapness of the video, I would of have thought someone was taking the piss. But no, they are an actual band, I would actually go and see them just to point and laugh at them.

Thanks for that, it has actually made my day.

Damn I haven't listened to Opeth in years. Thanks for the reminder. I used to jam Blackwater Park constantly back in school.

I gave it a minute. And you something OP? It's not that bad compared to what we've seen before. It's no worse than the other pop tripe that is in the charts right now, and while annoying, this is not even in the same league as Friday or Anaconda.

I haven't even watched the video and I'm still fairly sure it isn't going to be as bad as Shampoo's Uh-oh We're In Trouble. Or that song that was just made up words. I can't really tell how to spell it, but it was something like Muh-Num-En-Arr:

No way! No way!
Muh-Num-En-Arr
You mean "manah manah"? The one that muppets have a famous parody of?

... I actually kinda liked it. It had the guy from LMFAO in it, tearing up the mic as usual. It seemed more like a parody than anything...

For the record, I'd like to say something. I listened to that song so much at point, it became good. Only for like a week, but what a week!

Tried to play it and got this message:

"Watch this video on YouTube. Playback on other websites has been disabled by the video owner."

I'll take this as a sign.

why'd you have to bring up that embarrassment?!
Anaconda might be worse though.

I haven't watched the vid in question yet, partly out of fear, the other is i get enough bad music in the top 40.

I don't even know how this qualifies as music, to be honest. I'm starting to believe all those people who wrote about degeneration might have been right.
It's music.

Honestly what about this made you think it no longer fits the definition of music?
the science or art of ordering tones or sounds in succession, in combination, and in temporal relationships to produce a composition having unity and continuity
Don't get so hung up over bad music, it just means you're getting older, people are pretty much hardwired to hate the shit the next generation produces (as they should, the music is made to make them pissed off).

You're pretty much this guy:

I lasted 51 seconds. I don't know what happened during that time, but I'm not the same man I was, any hope I still held for the future of humanity is gone, extinguished, and I am not certain I shall ever recover...

Watched 30 seconds of it.

Decided that it was a parasitic monstrosity born of human culture's apparent abasement, followed through only with its inevitable downfall, ultimately leading to a generation of nobody twats on synths thinking they're hot shit.

Stopped watching it. IQ probably lowered substantially.

Going to cry now.
