No the Wii fucking sucks. Even thought I have one and yes it can produce a few good games E.g Mario Galaxy but the shitty games outweigh the good ones the way that horseshit outweighs diamonds.

Very true, pretty much exactly what this poster states.

I say no. I'm on the Wii-hate bandwagon cursing its lack of hard-core games as much as Yahtzee is.
Though I go the opposite way on this view.
Mainly since I find the most Hardcore games really suck.

The Wii does need more mature/violent games that are exclusive titles, or they will suffer the same fate as the GameCube.
That is their biggest problem at the moment, and why most 'hardcore' gamers despise the Wii (and the wonky motion-sensor jargon they try to add to certain games that simply shouldn't have them).

No.

I don't own a wii, but the few times i played it i managed to beat/match up to my friend in almost every one of those sports games by grabing the controller by its cord and swinging it around randomly.

I don't doubt its fun though :D

Well I do think that he needs to blame 3rd-party developers more and the Wii itself less. I'm not sure where that makes me stand on the question...

Yahtzee is being harsh on everything. Spewing bile and having unreasonably high standards is his primary job as a game critic. It's just that there weren't truly outstanding games on Wii - well, except for No More Heroes, which Yahtzee liked.

i own the wii and i love it!! (about 1% of the time)

no he's not being too hard on it at all. most of the games on the wii, and even what the system has itself become, are brainless garbage.

it's just an excuse to push junk-ware on unsuspecting parents during the holidays. $20 for a cooking game where you flip burgers?! sounds awesome!!

nintendo has become a joke.... a joke that sells millions of game systems.. but a joke none the less

Personally, I don't think he's too hard on the Wii. All I see in the Wii is a lot of wasted potential.

Even in the design phase, it could never truly compete with it's bigger and more boisterous brothers at Sony and Microsoft. Nintendo didn't make the graphics even comparable to another next gen console.

While it is understandable to sacrifice graphics for gameplay - this gamble didn't pay off namely down to the wave after wave of party games which were heavily promoted on television, in conjunction with the Wii's nauseating Ikea type family image.

All these party games bored every Wii gamer that I know of and they soon sold their Wiis or simply never touched them again. This is a bit of a shame really, because Nintendo seems to have got the message and now they are producing a few good games now. (Dead Space, House of the Dead etc...)

Plus with a price cut in the console, times have never looked so promising for the Wii. But sadly, I think that it's all ultimately a case of too little, too late for the Wii. If Nintendo had released the Wii five years ago - it would have been a much bigger success.

But one positive (or negative depending on your view) that has lived on in the Wii. Is that it's one defining feature, the motion controllers are worming their ways onto other systems in the form of Project Natal for Microsoft.

Whether something like Project Natal will reinvigorate gaming as we know it, or whether it's going to be looked as something as a minor peripheral like the Light Gun remains to be seen.

I can only hope that MS and Sony learn from Nintendo's costly mistakes and make their foray into the wilderness that is motion sensitive gaming with more success than Nintendo did.

Is anyone being too harsh on the Wii? No.

There was a (short) point in time when Yahtzee enjoyed the Wii. But I doubt it lasted any longer than the average amount of time a grown man can have fun with the Wii.

I see him more as a comedian then a critic, but I guess so long as he points out the bad and the good (when he can) in games he still qualifies as a critic.

Seeing as how you're new and you shouldn't be expected to know everything then I'll help you out.

People here don't really appreciate people saying "I think Yahtzee is wrong" or "I think Yahtzee should do this or that" because of what we've all come to expect from him. Asking if Yahtzee is being too harsh on the Wii is like asking if a gun is being too harsh when it shoots and kills someone.
