No he isn't. I hate the wii, and having "celebrities" advertising the damn thing on TV doesn't make me want to buy it.

No he's not.

He's a serious critic, y'know the people whose job it is to CRITICISE.

As a Wii gamer and nintendo fan, no.

Aside from SSBB, his Wii reviews have been fair.
Actually his review is fair and just, everything he said about Brawl is completely true and to be honest it is very easy to think that on your first play of the game. It is an annoying as hell clusterfuck, I had to put the thing down after 10 minutes of playing it. It took a while before I could actually make sense of the game and enjoy it for it's gameplay and Yahtzee was 100% correct that the game shouldn't have certain characters as huge selling points in the game then make them unlockables. Anybody who bought the game for Snake or Sonic would have shat bricks of rage at them being unlockable and rightly so.

I'll say it again, critic and everything he said about the game is legitimate criticism.

The Wii in my home is almost never switched on - by and large it was a duff purchase. The updated Wii motion should have been part of the original game and it should not have been released without it (OK, so Nintendo have sold a cubic fuckton of them so I guess that is why they released).

I got pissed with it the day I was playing Wii Sports with a a mate and I was swinging at a baseball with every fibre of my being, and she was getting the same result by remaining seated and just flicking her wrist.

Right now I would guess it is fine for party games. And maybe OK for youngsters. And it is OK to have something that appeals to a demographic other than hardcore gamer. But I would not recommend it to anyone I know.

Oh, and right now Nintendo platforms - including Wii - are suffering from such an over abundance of bloody shovelware that it is probably kind of tricky for anyone not following gaming media/magazines/sites to sort the wheat from the chaff.

Universal Truth:

Yahtzee is being too harsh on the Wii.

Infact, people should just let bygones be bygones when it comes to Hardcore Vs. Casual. Does anyone watch Moviebob's "Game Overthinker" on youtube? Great series. I am all for defending Nintendo, because they're gonna pull through because they got video games out of the crap-hole when people thought they were a just a fad, like personal computers. Nintendo makes great games and that is final.

But yes, they do need some fucking quality control with the 3rd party titles. And that's 3rd party titles with emphasis on party, I can assure you of that!

Not really,

I played on the Wii a few times, and it worked well with me.

I think Yahtzee just has technical difficulties with the motion sensor, that and some games have very awkward and bizarre motion commands.
Oh, Jesus! Everyone, Quit your bitching THEY FIXED THE MOTION CONTROLS THIS YEAR AT E3!!!
See? The Motion Plus will give great memories of that red thing in the N64! Infact, when I said that "The Wii Vitality Sensor is the Last Straw for me" and "Maybe we didn't WANT futuristic Wii Sensing controls" I was only saying stuff like that because I was copying off of Yahtzee who was brainwashing me. so is Yahtzee being too harsh on the Wii?

To answer the question in short is: Yes.

To me the wii is a console where people pay 50 bucks in order to play something in side that they could easily do for free outside.
Except for zelda of course. Zelda's awesome

No, considering that the Wii is in a similar position to the one that killed Atari (and almost took the home video game industry with it): very popular, yet drowning in a putrid sea of horrible shovelware crap, and owned by people who just didn't know any better. People make uniformed decisions and buy bad games since they have no idea what games are good and what aren't and get turned off from gaming.

And my theory on Yahtzee topics bites me in the ass again.

OT: I can see why he hates it, since most of the games are aimed at casual gamers, and the rest just seem like shovelware you'd never see on the 360 or PS3.

Yahtzee is harsh on EVERYTHING! When it comes to gaming, he's a pompous douchebag, and that's why everyone loves Zero Punctuation!

Open letter to Nintendo:

Dear Shigerou Miyamoto,

Congraduration on selling Googleplex units of the Wii and Dee-Ess, Please do not let this go to your head by letting any ol' slack-jawed freshman barge into the pitching room with "Wii Sitting On Our Asses" that comes with a free balance board, or "Mini Party Game for the whole family when you're not beating each other #1549". We are very disappointed in you when we see that you are putting your seal of quality on these products of entertainment that just further prove you are for kids by releasing games that should be for the V-Tech game system for 5 years as seen at the Bargain Giant where I live. And why must you have such going-too-far titles to prove you're not for kids like Madworld and Manhunt 2? Just look at your other franchises that are still packing a punch as we speak! Link is an Elf who goes around with a sword! Who flashes red whenever he gets hit which the ERSB counted as blood! Mario takes Sssshhhhhhhhhh......do I even need to say it? Because Newgrounds drove that joke right into the fuggin' ground. Samus is trying to get revenge on Space Pirates after she had her family killed when she was living under the poverty level! Poke'mon is labeled as Amoral by Pumping bible fanatics!! Do games really need Blood, swearing, sex and drugs to be "awesome", "badass" or "Adult"? Well do they?

I could go on with this letter but my dad is kinda ticked off about renivating the bathroom.

I shall resume this previous engagement of a letter, but

No, I pretty much agree with him about the Wii.
I tried one out at a friend's house, and even after making the adjustment for how... active it is... I just wasn't having fun. Partly because I don't like the way the controller looks... it just reminds me too much of a DVD remote, which gives me the impression that I'm actually playing one of those shitty mini-games that they used to put on the disc with your movies. The main reason is that I just can't get into any of the games for the Wii.

No.

They want to be seen as a serious console but there mouth is too firmly gripped around shit 3rd party games and about 3-5 francises balls.
