So I got mine the DAY before the price drop (which I was super upset about, cuz the same day the red one came out in the states) And I got to thinking if it was worth my money.

Personally I only bought it originally for Kingdom Hearts 3D which I just beat and loved. Other than that there have been only a few games I actually got for the 3DS. And they consist of 3D ports(Tales otA) and trade mark nintendo games (i.e. Zelda:OoT and Mario 3D). Over all I would say I love my 3DS, but now that the reason I got it has come and gone, and Harvest Moon is a bit out, I was wondering what else is there for this spunky little system that has made its way into my heart?

So what are your opinions on this handheld/ what is next for it?

It's been an awesome purchase for me in the end. And there has been a few games that I loved and have completed to the fullest, giving me a few hundred hours with the machine.

Resident Evil: Revelations is the game that Resident Evil franchise needed, but not what it deserved.

I think it's great.

I just wish there were more RPGs and the eshop wasn't so insanely expensive. Also there is not enough content on the eshop and the VC.

Also, Adventure Time 3DS looks awesome as does Animal Crossing 3DS.
That is my one gripe with the 3DS, I want some awesome RPGs! But there is Monster Hunter 4 and Paper Mario coming, both look like awesome games.

Once the next generation of Pogeymanz comes out the 3DS market will truly erupt and then there will be a flood of new games for it.

It's practically common sense. This is the reason I do not buy a console the first year it is out, because it would inevitably gather dust along with the marginally decent launch games until about the same time next year, making it a huge waste of money when compared to the ollowing year's price cut of probably nearly half the original price.

I wonder when exactly the next Pokemanz will come out. The Pokemon team is really clining onto the DS, like they don't want to start developing for the 3DS. But it'll come out soon, just probably not as quick as Diamond and Pearl came out.

I'm set for RPGs on 3DS, in fact I'm very happy with the purchase. Already out or coming out are 3 Shin Megami Tensei games, a new and improved Fire Emblem, the next Paper Mario Game and more are sure to come in the future. Hell, I'd have got a 3DS for FE13 and SMTIV alone. Not to mention the fantastic DS line-up.

I found it considerably more worth it than the PlayStation Vita. It has several awesome games AND the entirety of the DS library to back it up.

But I ended up getting mine after the price cut. The irony? I paid the same price I would've paid before the price cut.

Why? http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51ILkJSs3%2BL._SL500_AA300_.jpg Because that sexy fucker right there.

(I cannot for the life of me remember how to embed pictures)

I find this thread encouraging as I was thinking of buying a 3DS XL quite soon.

However I am concerned about the absurd pricing and small library of VC games available. £4.50 for Wario Land 2 is just insane.

Can anyone confirm if there are going to be any GBA/SNES/N64 titles available in the future or if the current libraries are going to be expanded upon?

I bought my 3DS about 2 months ago and even though I only own 2 games for it,(Tales of the Abyss and SMT: Devil Survivor Overclocked), I think it's a great system. I really just need to expand my library of games and wait for all the games I want to get come out,(Fire Emblem: Awakening, SMTIV, and Paper Mario).

Haven't got one yet but I'm gonna need to just for KH:3D. Purely for that, I'm pre-emptively saying it's worth it.

Ambassadors have GBA games so they will be there in the future. SNES titles seem likely.

N64 titles could be done but I just can't see Nintendo doing that, it would be too awesome.
As I don't have a 3DS, I was wondering, how did they overcome the fact that the 3DS has less buttons than the N64 controller for OoT? Because that's pretty much the only thing that I can think of(besides the risks of too much awesome) that N64 games wouldn't work on the 3DS. It's something I've been wondering for a bit now. I'm guessing it had something to do with the touch pad?

Oh, they used the touch screen and two of the face buttons. So two of the you just have to tap the touch screen for, and the other two you can set to the ABXY buttons. The touch screen isn't that hard to get to, it's not in the middle but to the side.

I bought my 3DS last Christmas, and I have been playing Mario Kart 7, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Pushmo, and Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening since. I haven't turned it on since June because it is in kind of a dry spell right now, but that will in November when Paper Mario: Sticker Star and FUCK YES EUROPE RELEASE Virtue's Last Reward come out.

Overall, I've been pretty happy with it, but not as much as with my DS YET.

I'm very satisfied with my 3DS. Granted, my 3DS isn't a thing, so it's pretty easy to be satisfied with it.

For whatever reason, Target had applied the price drop the day before it was supposed to. So I not only got my blue 3DS for the reduced price but I got it as an Ambassador. Sorry you couldn't grab one for less *pat pat*

---

Anyway: I've been using my 3DS a bit more than my home consoles. I've clocked about 95 hours on Theatrythm and have beaten the two Mario titles that don't involve go-karts (although I think I did beat MK7...). I got my hands on Kingdom Hearts 3DS but I'm having trouble sticking with it like Birth by Sleep or the original (ie: the only other two I've played). Other than the Mario and Final Fantasy games I mentioned before, I got a lot of mileage out of Samurai Warrior Chronicals. The 3D was kind of wasted but it looks fantastic for a launch title on a handheld (especially considering I got it new for under $13)

I can't speak for everyone obviously but my 3DS is definitely worth the money I paid for it. I'm planning on importing a Japanese XL for the Hatsune game, Love Plus and, the River City Ransom anniversary they've got over there...also Monster Hunter and whatever else they have that we won't be getting.
