Hrm.... gonna have to be a bit more extensive...

We are not at a state that someone says "I like CoD better than Battlefield", its about Zelda getting unreal praise for something, that I think, is decent at best, I mean an adventure game that bores me so much that I shut it off must do something wrong.
You missed the point. He's saying that other people have different tastes, and that's why you're bewildered by this "best game ever" stuff. You don't like what they do.

Worldrecordholder are the "best" there was no one before them and after them that were "the best" so why wouldn't it apply to games aswell?
This sort of thinking doesn't apply to art forms. To do so relegates the past to the dustbin as technical prowess overcomes previous limitations. One must look at works in the context of their era, especially when it comes to games, as the technology used to create said games is ever improving. Or are we going to toss out all the old FF games because they were 2D...?

As I mentioned that would be a good definition, but what I said, even today people claim it would be the best game ever, which in itself is silly for me, because there are far more advanced games than that and claiming it would be the best game ever is simply well..wrong.
See, there's that modern conceit again. What makes these other games so "advanced," and how does that affect the quality of the product? Do other games released at the same time share these "advancements"? What do they bring to the table that others don't?

Yes they might have had innovations, as innovative as "get boomerang, get bow, get grapplink hook" Zelda games can get, most of the time when I hear people defend Zelda its always the same" ohh big impact so much innovation and yadda yadda" as soon as you ask them what innovation or impressive impact it made they never can name anything...at all.
Spoken like somebody who doesn't properly remember 3D games BEFORE OoT. Trust me, kid, it innovated. Simply getting around was a ***** before, and while not technically a "fast travel" system, the horse solved one of the big pain in the asses of navigating large 3D worlds. Again, not something you'd really respect unless you'd suffered through the time before.

Just saying "its good thus its re released" doesn't quite cut it, we are talking about Nintendo here, they re release every game/franchise they have, if they can make money of it.
Ok, that one's legit, but technically that argument should nullify everything you've said about the plot and repetitious aspects. Yes, it's a Zelda game. We all expect it to be a variant on "Link saves princess, possibly with boomerang." And the hell with Nintendo for conditioning us to accept that. You're right on as far as the stagnation there, but you have to remember that, at the time, a) we hadn't purchased that plot quite so many times yet, although we had a couple and thus were open to the idea, and b) it was a big deal at the time. Imagine, Link in 3D! Kinda like how Serentiy was big for Firefly fans: OMG, big budget coming our way, YAAAAAY!

I don't know, CoD 4 and 6 might be the best from the series (not having played Black ops and MW3). Strangly enough noone who would have played both games would or could claim that they have bad storys, funny enough some claiming that MW2 made no sense might be the ones with the tiny brains, as I never had any problems understanding it..of course in the end it made sense.CoD are actually pretty nice and immersive shooters, no matter if you take the first two or the MW ones.
And there you go expecting the rest of us to assume your OPINION is FACT. Guess what? I didn't like the CoD 4 plot. I UNDERSTOOD IT, but I thought it was STUPID.
So... yeah. Lots of us like it, and as it's majority opinion that determines things like this, I'm sorry, but you're going to have to deal with OoT having this title. Works of art aren't like sporting events, another game can't just come along and jump farther or run faster and thus take the title. Any contender needs to recapture that magic, and let me tell you, it's going to be pretty damn hard. This isn't nostalgia talking; it's memory. There was a lot of hype for that game, and it goddamn DELIVERED.
Last bit of advice, though... You might want to avoid Citizen Kane. Totally overrated and boring, and the color SUCKS.
