somethig similar of smaller proportions happend to me once with my english teacher too. I sneezed and she said to me "Thank you, now we're all going to get sick. [/sarcasm]" in front of the class. It wasn't even a flu sneeze, I have allergies! And she was supposed to be the school psychologist.

I pretty sure these days it's suggested to not to put in anything in their mouth. The risk of them biting their tongues pretty low versus accidental injuries you could cause.
Yeah, putting something in an unconscious person's mouth is not the best idea - they could choke on it, or it could obstruct/impede their airway in some other way. Best to clear a safe area around the casualty, and place something soft/protective undaer/around their head, Then ring for an ambulance - better yet, get someone else to, while you deal with the casualty. [lecture mode off]

Most teachers are idiots, seriously, good (sometimes) at teaching their topic, understanding kids, not so good.

True, all you can really do is clear everything out of the way and put a pillow or something soft under their head so they don't get any head trauma.

Calm down everyone, let's not get the lynching ropes knotted just yet. Was the teacher informed of the student's condition? Did the student in question have disciplinary problems that might have led the teacher to believe that this was anything other than someone acting out and being disruptive?

Lastly, can you honestly expect an english teacher to be able to diagnose and react properly to something like that? Let's not be too harsh in our assessment here, we don't know anything close to the whole story.
First paragraph might have some merit.
The answer to the second paragraph is most definitely without question "Yes". Teachers should be required to take basic cpr and first aid. A basic first aid class covers how to identify and react to this sort of situation. Further, if the student had a document condition, would it not be covered in a health form of some sort? I assume that teachers would want/need to know about these sorts of conditions.

Somewhat related side story: chemistry teacher at my former highschool kept students in class while the fire alarm was going off, because they were in the middle of a quiz. Turned out the fire alarm was going off because there was a bomb threat and the administration needed everyone to leave the building. Yep, she's still working there as far as I know.

No, she is a teacher, she may be transferred, but her union will make that impossible.
We got our teacher "fired" after grade seven.... she's not allowed to be full time anymore, she's a sub now

A: The teacher is a ***** (knowledge gained from experience)
B: Not the first time this girl had a seizure.
C: I do not expect a teacher to diagnose a epileptic, but I sure as hell know you dont start to yell at someone having a seizure and you call someone who might be of assistence

not cool. Its not like the girl made her self have a seizure for the lols. she probably couldn't help it.

At my school, there is this fat sweaty guy who is the PE teacher for both girls and boys. last year he made the 8th grade girls dance for him in the back of his classroom. He got fired but my school is so frickin cheap they re-hired him and gave him his job as teacher again.

And even nastier, he makes us run extra laps so we get all sweaty. then he stares at us. Its weird.

By "seizure" I'm going to assume it's the epileptic routine. That ***** is going to get hit with a legal ton of bricks.

She's almost 80, so their gonna say oh we'll let it slide because her husband recently died, and she contributed much to the school"

My stepfather died of a seizure... that ***** of a teacher should have died instead.
That wouldn't solve anything. As repulsive as this woman is, wishing death on her is just being overly-vindictive, and that's phrasing it lightly.

At any rate, seems like a lawsuit is imminent here. I sincerely hope that this kid's parents press charges, and if they don't -- and they would be crazy if they didn't -- then maybe you could still report her to the headteacher? I mean, if they had any sense at all, they should want to know what's going on in their school and see what was wrong with this entire situation. If that's her reaction to a student having a seizure, she needs to get fired, put on some kind of list, and never enter a school again, period. Why on Earth do such impatient, God-awful people like this choose to go into teaching, of all professions? Just why?

EDIT:

Oh God, completely agreed. English teachers are total nutjobs. Best one I ever had was a guy who never taught us anything, just spent every lesson telling us hilarious stories, and -- get this -- was technically a Viking. He believed in Norse mythology and some kind of obscure Viking religion. Yes, that does mean he totally believed in Thor and Odin and Baldr. His granddad gave him a war axe for his tenth birthday.
