That's why I'm glad I live in the UK, where it's illegal to own anything other than a bolt-action hunting rifle
And certain types of non-automatic shotguns.

/pedantry.

Eh, shit happens. These are the kinds of things I like to in "gun control/rights" threads - that control should be tightened as some people are just too damn stupid to be trusted with weapons.

When I was little there was loaded guns in the house, but my dad taught me things like GUN SAFETY, and the fact that they can KILL PEOPLE.
This.

Bad Parenting got this kill, not Guns.

♫As I sing to myselfô

Wha? Oh yeah.

People are stupid. Kids are curious. I stopped caring about kids shooting people after the big boom of elementary school shootings done by students. Still pretty stupod of the parent to leave a gun lying around within reach, let alone a gun that's loaded.

How was this kid not taught anything about how GUNS ARE DANGEROUS? This raises so many questions...

Whoa. . .whoa. . whoa. . . WHAT?!

I hope that kid and his parents go down for a long time. I understand that you yanks are more relaxed on gun control but this is pathetic.
I wouldn't necessarily call this a failure of gun control, more a failure of gun safety. Any gun can (note: not necessarily should) be safely kept in a private home, provided the sufficent locks are in place and the ammo is stored either away from the gun or in a safe container in the gun safe.

I hope that kid didn't play video games. If he did, the media will blame it on the games.
I bet there saying on some NRA forum, I hope the kid played videogames.

Well at least it wasn't on purpose, it could have been avoided but i think its worse to hear malice in these stories. Like the kid who stabbed his dad over Fifa.

Where was this? Cause local for you is not local for me.Just the state or country.

OT: This old lady was beating up outside a local store of mine, she was about 70. Why? just because she was in Native American territory, thats the kinda gangs we got around here, No one said anything it was kinda sad.Anywho Yea stuff like that happens all the time in moutain towns, accentditaly shootings not old lady beatings. Thats why my famliy is big on gun safty and education.

EDIT: Sometimes gun accedints happen, yes there unfortunate but you have to learn form the mistakes, and move on. Thats why I'm an advocat of gun education not gun control.

Must... resist... urge... to mock... American... gun control... Seriously, I really need to not get drawn into debate. Let's just say I find it stupid and leave it at that.

Incidentally, it is a wonderful world, one bad thing is just that, one bad thing. No doubt there are more but heck, just turn away and look at that spiffing sunset.

It's a sad day in your life when you realize you're just not surprised by this kind of thing anymore.

m,,,,mEveryone in that family deserves to get their hands cut off for being so careless.. There's really no point to it, but yeah. >.<
I thought you were supposed to teach children that violence is wrong.. Then again, this can't be expected of everyone -.-

Just another strike for the argument that guns are simply Bad. This wasn't some drug crazed maniac that was going off the deep end, this was a kid who was given access to a deadly weapon; partly because of a society ruled by the rich fat cats who happen to have contracts with arms companies. Guns are deadly tools, and the fewer of them there are the better.
As for the student, hopefully he makes a full recovery, cause the people who are responsible for this sure as hell aren't going to pay for this nearly as much as they should if he doesn't.
Justice is dead cause, guess what, it was shot in the back while we were too busy looking at all the shiny stuff our precious money can buy.

And people wonder why most advanced countries have much stricter gun ownership laws, even if there is only a one in a billion chance of this happening, then making sure there aren't a billion people with guns is a priority.

The only thing that can shock me in todays world is if a 6 year old launches nukes aimed at random countries around the world.
