Anyway, my parents are out of town then. Anybody feel like retiring back to my place afterwards for a few beers and some gaming? Or would it be too far?
You goddamned son of a *****.

I live halfway across the earth, and bring up my guilty pleasure.

I'll try and see if I can catch a plane ride.

I've always wanted to go to Sydney.

There should be more of these.

Fuck I'll set up a West Coast addition to this trend of Escapism!

Okay, my chances of making it are very good. I just have a few issues that need resolving.

Firstly, how much money will I need to bring up with me? What do you anticipate, taking into account lunch and other stuff? Also, will we be going to Pancakes on the Rocks? I love that place, and if you're going to the Bowling/Laser Tag place I'm thinking of, it won't be far away.

Secondly, there is the issue with my parents. My dad will probably turn up with me to Central Station and leave, just so he can get a good look at you guys. My parents are afraid that you guys might be the most elaborate, cunning and patient criminal organisation around, and they are pretty paranoid about me hanging around people I met on the internet. Some wold say they're being protective, some would say they're being over-protective. Me? I think they've been watching Taken one too many times.

Thirdly, thanks for the offer Indigo_Dingo, I would love to come. However, I won't be able to turn up. Shame, I would have loved a beer/games night.

By the way Lab, thanks for organising this. It's a shame I missed last time, but I am anticipating this one with great... anticipation.

I can't make it to this one, I'm afraid. But I'd love to have the trip to Autralia I've always wanted to take coincide with one in the future :D

Curse you, world! What with your being big and round and putting Australia on the opposite side of you!

Anyhows, I shan't be able to come physically, so I'll mail you folks a life-sized cardboard cutout of me.

If you need someone to say hello to your parents, I'm cool with doing that. Considering my age it might put them more at ease too. I won't turn up in anything too.. extravagant. Great to have you along!

As mentioned in the OP, it looks like the event itself will cost about $37 each. I recommend bringing more for lunch and what not. Would be awesome to go to Pancakes On The Rocks.

Do we really want some one who's completely jetlagged at this thing?
Would it make that much of a difference? It'd prod buttocks to have him along!

Hmm. I'm considering going. I go to UTS and hence I buy a weekly train ticket to central anyway.

Yet again I will consider going, but I'm uneasy about the whole thing.
Do it. It's an awesome awesome day, with awesome awesome people. And Sir Buttersworth is an honoured guest this year. He elected to come as mascot.

Oh wow. I honestly didn't expect you to come! Fantastic! Getting to Central might be a bit of a drag from the Airport, but I look forward to meeting you there.

Lol, it's amazing the things people would rather have than money eh?

I'll be fine to find central. I've been to Sydney a few times before plus the plane gets in at 7.30 so I should be right. I'll be reading a Peanuts comic book (how original!) if you need to find me. Can you please also PM me your mobile at some stage, I'd hate to come up to Sydney just to not find you guys. Thanks a bunch

dam you dirty New South Walesians!!

Why cant something cool come to Adelaide, and dont say its because you will get mugged or murdered and dont say its because Adelaide is shit... we all know that already
I'm starting to think that Adelaide would be the safest Capital city in Australia. Mainly because no one likes Adelaide and they'd have to bye a more expensive plane ticket. That way there'd be a lower chance of having a terrorist attack in Australia's capital if no one wants to travel to it.

Man, I should drive down from Brisbane and meet up.

On the other hand, I have Uni.
Speeking of Brisbane that reminds me of a conversation I had a thew years ago while playing the Halo demo for the mac.
Last Grunt(ME): Hold on you're from Australia too? What city you're from? Don't tell me if it's Brisbane because everyone in Australia that plays the Halo demo for the mac is from Brisbane.
Maverick: I'm sorry Grunt, but I'm from Brisbane.

April 18th huh? That should be plenty of time to dig to Australia.

To Sydney!

I think you don't know you're animation physics. No mater where you dig from, you allways end up in China.

So anyway [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.85608] the idea was put forward and people have said yes. Just reminding you that on April the 18th, we will be having a second Sydney Escapist meet-up (Escapism). The last one [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.80224] was a lot of fun, so I'd encourage everyone to come along to this time. Details are as follow, and any updates will be noted here.
Sydney Australia or Sydney Canada? Joking I know you mean Australia.

Come to Melbourne for the entertainment. Come to Sydney to out source our Tourism industry.

Wheather I am going or not, I am still considering.

Ok I got one more location pun
Maybe London but no Paris. Unless it's Paris Hilton or Paris Texas.

Not if I take that left turn at Albuquerque. Someone needs a lesson in cartoon geography.
