Warner Brothers just got the rights to the 1990's T.V. movie It. If you haven't seen it the movie revolves around killer clown that terrorizes a bunch of kids. I remember watching it as a little kid and it scared me.

Have you seen the original TV movie version? Have ya read the book? Do you think it'll be any good? Did it scare you as a kid?

I liked the book. The TV version sucks from an adult perspective, though it scared the piss out of me when I was younger.

Maybe they'll do it well, who knows. >.>

I loved the book and I loved the movie. Why do they feel that a remake is needed?

They wouldn't be able to, they would have to leave so much stuff out. I won't go into detail but some of it's pretty disgusting.

I really liked IT. I like Steven King books in general and Joe Hill's debut book as well.
They better not bugger the remake up.

The film was ok but the book is one of my personal favourites. They better not fuck it up or Pennywise will come for them!

I declare 2010 to be...The Year of the Remake.

Get ready for a deluge of bad remakes of 80s and 90s movies. Also, you'd think that they'd go back a little farther in trying to ape the ideas of others. 80s movies are fine, but there's alot of potential in the 60s and 70s. Or they could nix the remake altogether and try to make some original movies! I have 8 original ideas floating around in my head, 5 if you don't count the three based on books. If I can come up with half-a-dozen ideas in 6 months, then Hollywood can do better.

To quote Yahtzee: "I'm biased against remakes because I think they're bloody stupid...and remakes would get the death penalty".

don't know, I think a rehash on say.. Thundercats would go over pretty well... more so if you get alan moore to write a screenplay Im sure it would be a much much darker series than the cartoon ever was.

Oh dear... It the book is one of the cleverest and well written pieces of work I've ever read, (especially what It really is, which you could never do with a movie adaptation). I remember having to watch part of the film for English back in high school and hating the way the whole tale was protrayed, especially the idea that It really was a spider (the ultimate insult to Stephen King).

I don't think a remake could do the book any justice, it is simply one of those tales that is best read and not watched, because it can never encapsulate the magic that Stephen King obtained with the book.

your in luck Thundercats is being remade, by the writters and cast of the original animations, apparently its gonna be a PG rated CG version.

Because they realized you can still make money off of it.

This movie is the reason I STILL get nervous around clowns... Stupid IT scarred me as a child.

i'm reading the book at the moment, it's awesome, but i'm always skeptical of remakes, so i'll let the meat shields go in first and depending on the verdict go see it then :D

Speaking of remakes, do you know they're remaking Total Recall?

I loved that movie, it had Arnie, Ironside and... well that was about it for me. But, good God, that was enough. And more! Total Recall is one of the best movies you can watch if you're sitting back with a meat-feast pizza and a few mates. Best action movie ever made.

But now they're remaking it? That just... didn't need to happen, y'know? Kinda pisses me off, really, because it's like telling everyone that was involved in it and everyone who watched it that they shouldn't have wasted their time.

Back on subject, I've never seen It, but I've heard that it was hilarious from one person and incredibly scary from another.
