Eh, maybe it's Left 4 Dead 3 announcement or when the left 4 dead online comics come out.

But the website says it starts with the flu, according to the LFD wiki the zombie virus is a form of rabies so this can't have to do with left 4 dead!

Details details. The flu is a virus, rabies is a virus, both make you very sick, both can kill you. Just go with it alright.

Ahh, young masters, but you are forgetting about how the survivors see it in L4D. Remember, in L4D and in L4D2, they all called the infection the *drum roll* GREEN FLU!!

So, maybe the Viral Ad was taking it from the perspective of just a normal civilian and not an Omniscient "Morgan Freeman in War of the Worlds" viewpoint.

Not only do the survivors mention the flu a couple of times in dialogue, Nick at one point says "At least i didn't catch the flu", but there are also posters for the Green Flu Epidemic and graffiti countering it that reads "NOT a flu" meaning some survivors may have suspicions about CEDA's information.

Ok but give me some slack, afterall when I'm running through the level I really don't take the time to read random newspaper articles or graffiti when you have to worry about the undead running up to you and pound you into submission.

Maybe, just maybe the negative countdown means they are starting to countdown towards rapture. As in the bible quote from "Daniel 12, 1-13" says that we will receive rapture in 1335 days or 3 years and 7 days from 9/8/10. Maybe that's what the negative countdown means, and maybe it is saying will we survive until then. As well from the saying It says "4But you, Daniel, keep the words secret and the book sealed until the time of the end. Many shall be running back and forth, and evil* shall increase." (the book probably meaning the bible and the saying probably "Daniel 12, 1-13" =P) Daniel then asks how long til the end of this. It continues to say "10Many shall be purified, cleansed, and refined, but the wicked shall continue to act wickedly. None of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand." (So the wise will know what the evil is and how to stop them. Bash the zombies brains in lol Maybe some of the wicked will just be people gone crazy) So we can interpret that in-between the time til rapture many will be running back and forth (running from something, right?) and evil shall increase (well that sounds alot like a zombie to me haha). Saying 10 in this saying the wicked will continue to act wicked and none of the wicked should understand. (Another thing that really sounds like zombies to me) Myself I don't want something like this to happen lol. But I was reading the forum and no one thought of something like this. True, but what if we wont forget because it is a test of survival between these three years. So the survivors will be "purified, cleansed, and refined" I really dont know, im just interpreting what I got from the saying haha.
