its named after gigantic super-weapons that float around a planet in game. They look like the planet has a halo because of their large size even in comparison to the planet

Dude...I've played the game. And I'm using something called a 'Blanket Term' Yeah, sure the Marines, ODST, Elites, even the flood at one point are allies, more often then not, you're blasting bad guys.

ok, thats true. A lot of people seem to think of Halo's plot as being "kill them because they're bad, they're bad because they are" grade, and I sort of thought of what you said as meaning that. my bad

Not to mention, it has caused some confusion for me. Master Chief is a rank in the current US Navy. The Chief is apparently a marine. The equivalent rank in the Marines is Gunnery Sergeant. As such, I have, on more than one occasion, wondered if our hero in Halo was a Marine or a Sailor.

Pretty good game, actually. One of those few licensed ones that actually got it "right" (like Goldeneye). ...but why does the title on the box have to be so long?

Really? Good? Did you get past the part where you inexplicably fall into the floor as you are being hunted by amazons, or the part where they think it is a good idea to make a survival game first person? (You need to see your body in a survival game people)

You bet. I played it from beginning to end, on PC, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

One of the worst titles I ever remember seeing was FEAR. Yes, fear...that emotion that can sometimes be passed through by games when they actually gear towards being scary. Then there's this generic FPS game with some little girl from the ring for some arbitrary reason. It wasn't a dreadful game, they should have just called it something more appropriate like...like... GUN-oh wait, snap!

I'm really quite shocked we haven't seen the title "SPACE SOLDIERS" since pretty much every game focused on nowadays could adopt it.

That game actually made me genuinely scared, that's not counting the mandatory startle moments, which is quite an achievement for a game because I almost never get scared.

Anyway, I'll second the Wii. Not a game, but seriously, it's so full of innuendo it's just not funny anymore. Also the colour coding for Pokémon games, I mean, why?

Especially considering how they are all the same flipping game, just change around a few pokemon and change the color that goes with it.
I have quite a few games that use Dark as an adjective. Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 1 and 2, as well as Gauntlet: Dark Legacy.
Come to think of it, I have quite a few games with a : in the title and that use a sub-title as well.

Please, do not use Baldur's Gate before Dark Alliance. Please do not soil the good name of baldurs gate. (I know the Dark Alliance games are baldurs gate games but still)

Actually, that's not true. Wet has a double meaning of both sexual connotation, and, "Wetwork", a term used for assassination. I overlooked the sexual bit the first time I saw the game, but Yahtzees review on the game clued me in.

Personally, I have always been a fan of, "Alien Shooter: Vengence". About as generic as it gets name-wise. Though another great name, which I'm surprised has yet to be mentioned, is, "Divine Divinity". Its a name that makes your brain come to a screeching halt.

Divine Divinity was a weird name indeed. But an awesome game ;o

Anyway, OT: Final Fantasy.
