Metroid

You don't see the Metroids for most of the game than they pop up scare you and... ...become Mooks for the rest of the game.

Yes, it was a joke. I know Halo is the name of the big killy death star rings. But MC himself, you must admit, is not very holy
Not to mention, it has caused some confusion for me. Master Chief is a rank in the current US Navy. The Chief is apparently a marine. The equivalent rank in the Marines is Gunnery Sergeant. As such, I have, on more than one occasion, wondered if our hero in Halo was a Marine or a Sailor.

Final Fantasy II, and all it's other counterparts. Total. Paradox.

That's all I got, apart from the Wii, which I think someone has mentioned already.

One of the worst titles I ever remember seeing was FEAR. Yes, fear...that emotion that can sometimes be passed through by games when they actually gear towards being scary. Then there's this generic FPS game with some little girl from the ring for some arbitrary reason. It wasn't a dreadful game, they should have just called it something more appropriate like...like... GUN-oh wait, snap!

I'm really quite shocked we haven't seen the title "SPACE SOLDIERS" since pretty much every game focused on nowadays could adopt it.
HOW DARE YOU INSULT MY FAVORITE SINGLE PLAYER FPS OF ALL TIME!!!!! I thought it was clever, First Encounter Assault Recon. I can see why you would think it was lame though. As much as I love Killzone 2 the name really is pretty terrible in my opinion.

Actually the equivalent rank in the Marines is a Master Gunnery Sergeant or Sergeant Major.
You are indeed correct. I was mistaking a Master Chief for a simple chief, something that would certainly offend any sailors around.

Yes, but they were the focal point around which the whole story revolved.

Agreed, except even just "Fear" would have been better (less pretentious, anyway), but it's actually F.E.A.R. or "First Encounter Assault Recon." I'm pretty sure "Assault Recon" is an oxymoron, or at least fucking retarded.

I think we would all agree that making words into acronyms into game titles is a bad idea.

OT I'd also like to throw in cryostasis: the sleep of reason (probably makes more sense in Russian, but still)

Mirror's edge. What does that even refer to? the side of mirror or maybe the rind around the edges or what?

Final Fantasy X-2.

Even if you know nothing about the game itself, you can see that the title simultaneously contains the terms "Final" and "2".

Half Life.

...why is it considered half a life? (Note: I haven't played it beyond the first hour or two. Got intensely bored, thoughti t was junk, and went to go play more Ace Combat IV.)

Don't all their sports games start with wii?
Wii boxing,
Wii bowling,
Wii-fit --- that one sounds messy
