Should be spoiler free:

I am in the middle of book 6 of the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. I liked the first couple books. But I had a thought last night while reading that nothing is really happening. I mean I could of condensed 6 500+ page books into a 100 page short story and still would of gotten everything. I guess I am just not happy with the pacing and the fact bad things continually happen to the main characters to the point that its become almost comical.

TV Shows: Heroes - Lost just to name a couple. They have AWESOME first seasons and then.... nothing. They keep these shows on but pull Firefly? WTF

I'll agree with Death Note for this, but for me, it was only great until the half way point.

Why keep going after something like that? Why ruin what could have been a near perfect series, which would have had a great ending if it ended right there? It felt like nothing but, "Now for my ultimate challenge. Outsmarting children!"

Everything after the death of L was almost completely pointless to me, and made me hate it.
I know so many people who agree with that statement, but personally, I liked how it continued on as I wanted to see Light's possible downfall.

Sure he's trying to outsmart a 12 year old which is actually kinda pathetic, but I thought it was funny how he ended up getting fucked over by his apparent ally and a child. Serves the dick head right

Lord of the Rings (both)- It was great until I realised Gandalf should have used those damn eagles he made friends with in The Hobbit.
This seems to be a really popular realisation. But nobody seems to remember the gigantic, fiery eye of Sauron that would stare at them and eventually subject them to an endless blizzard of wraith lords.
Fine, I'll give you that. But what if they were dropped off before they reached Mordor, somewhere near the Dead Marshes, in Rohan? The eagles could have sent scouts ahead/avoided the Ringwraiths (there were only nine). Frodo would never have been attacked by Shelob or Smeagol. Gandalf wouldn't have had to face the Balrog.

Dude, you made it that far? Kudos, I couldn't stand watching it after... well... you know.
Well, I actually read it and I had already bought the entire series so, I kinda had to :p

After I finished 3 I think, I went out and bought the rest of the series and it kinda went down after 10 or so.

I, unlike a lot of people it seems, enjoyed the whole Near/Mello plot line. Not as much as the original, but still it was pretty good.

Until you got that hadouken power thing. What the fuck...

I would've liked the twist a tad more if it wasn't so fucking preposterous. How could the ENTIRE mental facility go through an advanced role-play like that?? Really?? I still love the movie, but I just wasn't a fan of the twist

Actually a really good slasher film...until you realized that the main character had multiple-personality disorder and she was the slasher the whole time. It just made no sense, it was stupid as fuck, and unlike Shutter Island, it just ruined the entire movie for me. One of the worst twists ever.

Yeah, I always like to see it when a 'good guy', for a lack of a better term, loses in a series. I was really shocked that it did keep going after that point, but I guess I've just always been kind of mad about how they handled some of that part of the series. lol

Last season of Battlestar, absolutely. I actually felt pissed off at the final ending. I looked up the trivia, and apparently most of the other seasons were plotted out as they went along, but the final ending was what they always knew they were going to do. So essentially, the show's writers did a better job when they didn't know what they were doing.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Ed gives up his ability to use alchemy to get their bodies back, but Ed doesn't get his leg back. I hated that they ended the series with Ed being a normal person.
There's also the fact that he gave it up to get everything they lost back, but Mustang didn't get his sight back until Marcoh used a Philosophers Stone on him.

The Melancholy of Harui Suzumiya was great until the "endless 8" episodes, kinda made up for it after they ended though.

Then it's settled! The eagles can take them SOME of the way :)

I loved Don Quixote until the last two words of the last chapter. THE END it says. What? That's it?
And Tank Girl comics were fine until book two got hippie-style. But then they made up for it with the excellent book three.

Death Note
Ninja'd. The whole second half of the anime was awful.

Dramatic.

Slow motion.

Chocolate eating.

WHY.

But, I'm going to go ahead and say Tales of the Abyss, a game I honestly enjoyed, had a stupid ending.

Basically, there's this thing called the Score, which predicts the future. The main villain wants to destroy the Score, which will cause the world's magical bullshit science[footnote]Everything is made of sound. *Facepalm* I wish I was making this up.[/footnote] to go all out of whack. Now, sooner or later it's revealed that the Score isn't one of many possible futures, but it's something called the Planet's Memory, and it's going to happen no matter what.

Luke, the main character, says that he "doesn't think Yulia wanted everyone to follow the Score." Then why the fuck did she make it in the first place, you dumb, emo jackass.

And the ending. Oh my god the ending. It was worse than that of the sixteenth episode of the Baccano! anime. What happened was... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING COMPREHENSIBLE. I guess Luke fused with the corpse of Asch or something, but it's not explained, and it makes no fucking sense whatsoever. Just about the only thing you can be certain of is that, hooray, the world's magical bullshit science crap has been saved, and what is known in Star Trek as the "Magic Reset Button" has been pushed. I guess.

Oh yeah, and then there's ToS2. But then again that game stopped being good when Emil opened his whiny, shitheaded mouth.
