Started up a new map in minecraft today and started to look for a place to build, than I found this:

Thats not sand actually thats clay lol.

Edit: unless your colors are just messed up and sand is grey in your game rather than yellow...

Ive seen alot of these posts, but what interests me is why theres a floating piece of dirt, when normally only sand spawns aside water...

Your forgetting the new desert biomes.
edit: woops reading comprehension fail. Usually dirt is found under the sand though.
edit2: or the guy under me could be right. (Man I feel stupid today.)

OT: Well Jesus did walk on water so I see nothing wrong with a floating cross

Oh i didnt forget that - I mean the rock the cross is on top of - The collective height and position is whats awekward

Happened to me too. Only it was an inverted cross made of stone. Yay Satan!

The upside down cross is actually supposed to be even more holy than the original, as (saint peter?) said he was not holy enough to be crucified like jesus, he was turned upside down to show his faith, I love the silly misunderstandings of today.

It's obvious by your equipment bar that you've got a texture pack. Not to mention all the floating "sand" on the right side by the water.

It's probably re-textured dirt or clay or something like that.

I know, I'm no fun.

you could look a little further beside the sand and notice how your wrong thats its retextured dirt by 100%
