Nostalgia maybe clouding my judgment but how is cartoon network now gotten so bad? Was it brought on by the people making choices at the top that completely ignored what people liked to watch when they started making decisions in favor of feeding the octopus that lives in their heads?

Terry: Hey Gonad, People like reality TV show. So lets make a cartoon based on a reality tv show.

Gonad: Alright but lets also make all the characters totally unlikable stereotypes and all the show will try to be is nothing but a poorly made comedy that was written by monkeys who just got done sniffing glue.

Terry: I know were called cartoon network but lets start making live action shit like Nick, Disney, and Discovery channels except all the shows are going to be shitty rip-offs.

Gonad: Wow, I'm not sure how to make that idea any shittier... Oh, we will make all newer cartoons filled with nothing but shitty toilet humor and about Friendship

Seriously how are these good...

Hell i miss watching godd shows like these...
Im sorry im just letting off some pent up frustration after the first time i turn on cartoon network in over a year a find nothing but crap.

Any cartoons you'll miss?
Can anybody explain cartoon network's stupidity?

Took ya long enough... Cartoon Network died after Toonami died. It's been dead for a damned long time and every time I go there it just kills more and more of my childhood.

There's far too many shows I miss to list. Suffice it to say I was moderately addicted to the channel when it was actually good.

It's the stupidity of the animation industry. Shitty shows fetch a lot of money, so good shows get tossed out to make room for the money-making garbage.

Guess I should be happy I don't watch TV anymore, and so did not hear about this sad decline. :(

Whenever I see a kid watching that channel anymore I feel sorry for them. It's pretty bad, a bunch of vomit and toilet jokes, shite animation, and it just feels so borderline r-rated all the time.

Wow man, that Bobb'e show is atrocious. He's acting like a young Chris Tucker. Way to perpetuate a ridiculous stereotype.
I don't have the cartoon network, instead in Canada we have Teletoon, and I can pretty safely say that it doesn't have any of those cheese-ball live action shows.
...
I don't watch it too much, so out of curiosity I checked the channel lineup, and tomorrow they're playing The Crow (Brandon Lee, live action..) what the hell is that doing on a cartoon channel? Thats about as weird as it gets though, the rest are animated shows.

Chowder, Flapjack, and Adventure Time are all that I know that's good on that channel now. What's worse is that I never catch them because that'd mean accidentally catching some of the crap they show now.

It's the Corporation Vs. Art thing, all they're trying to do now is appeal to what they think Teens and Kids like. "Let's take Mythbusters, strip out all the science, throw in some super chill lines and puns that the kids are diggin' this year and show it. It'll make millions."

"What other shows they got? Ghost Hunters? Add an all kid cast with some more jokes the kids will respond to."

"Bear Grills? Great! Survival Show except we have Teens do it."

"Trust us this is exactly what Disney and Nick did and look at what they made!"

"You say we're missing Teen Drama? Well then BOOM... here's a show about teens doing teen stuff. Kids can relate to that you know, that's why reality shows work."

Instead of making something that lasts, they make something that's as easily forgettable as a sheet of fabric softener. Damnit all venting!

I walked in the front room today and my four year old niece was watching a show called Total Drama Island, she told me everything about the characters and the show and it sounds like a not very good version of Drawn Together for kids.

I remember someone on this site that explained this decline quite well. In essence, the shows they used to have took more risks. Now it's all shows that you can see suits agreeing would get views because of the success of other shows.

Take Courage the Cowardly Dog. A show about a dog that lives in a house in a desert and who tries to save his owners and home from weird freaky shit like alien chickens, a zombie movie director, a fox who wants to make a human stew and a scientist who uses technology to make everyone in the world a jerk.

Then you have other shows like Johny Bravo, Samurai Jack, Dexter's Labratory all of them weird but wonderful because they TOOK CHANCES.

The only shows I still watch on Cartoon Network is Deltora Quest because it's based entirely on the book series I used to read as a child. Even with nostalgia added there are still lines that make me cringe though.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

And Boba Fett's set to fuck that one up right pretty if the season 2 finale is any indication. Damn kid's whinier than Anakin ever was.

Cartoon Network is going down the same dark road as MTV, they've started sacking off quality shows for cheaply made pop culture rip offs and there slowly starting to sneak in live action shows that are little better than web shows. they even made there own version of MTV 2, Does Boomerang ring a bell?

The Adult Swim is still pretty good though. Batman and Courage were pretty excellent shows and I also liked Toonami as well and the cartoons and animes they showed like Outlaw Star, Samurai Jack, Justice League, Zoids, and Tenchi Muyo.

Even though I am only 22 I kinda feel old looking back on all my childhood shows.

You name off lot of toonami stuff (Yes toonami was the sh*t i wont lie, its what really turned me into the otaku that i am today lol). But what about the other cartoon cartoons beside courage. Like Samurai Jack, Johnny bravo, Dexter, Edd Ed n Eddy, Power puff girls (embarrassed to admit that i liked it -__- lol), cow and chicken, i am weasel, Billy and Mandy, Teen Titans, Sheep in the big city, and so on? I totally agree with you that CN is mostly shit now (i do like chowder and adventure time though lol), and ill never forgive them for what they did with the last version of TOM from toonami (they made him into a ****** chu chu train  ) and for killing off toonami all together. But im just saying that u left out lot of other great shows that made CN awesome outside of toonami. Just saying ^___^.

OT: to answer your question, we unfortunately live in a world where ppl love so called "Reality" TV. and unfortunately the big wigs up top arent afraid to cut good shows for stupid ones that they know will give them ratings and viewers. They see CN more as a business rather than an outlet to make actually good masterpieces of television. I just feel bad for the kids today (especially for not having GOOD version of toonami) that have to grow up in this world of crap cartoons and to be fooled into thinking theyre awesome when they suck ass -___-.
Um i only named a few because im tired and didn't have the patience to search youtube and i added at the end. "Any cartoons you'll miss?" meaning i asked for other people to post vids for cartoons they like that are now gone.

See, only two of the shows that you mentioned are good. Cartoon Network was never that good. Now it just sucks beyond belief.
Eh, when they had the whole Cartoon Cartoon schtick going on, they had some entertaining programs.

Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ed, Edd & Eddy, Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Laboratory, and debatably I M Weasel. They had very little in terms of intellectual value, but they were a lot of fun to watch.

Edit: Totally forgot about Samurai Jack. I'll be back later, gonna go shut my face in a door as punishment.

Wow, Firefox actually froze with the pure shittiness of modern CN. I've been wondering what happened to CN awhile now, but I completely abandoned it all the same. Anything I want to watch is on the internet now.
