When we're in the same f*cking month as it.

Now I love Christmas ("presents? Why thankyou!"), but I saw adverts for sorting out your Christmas shopping in AUGUST.

CHRISTMAS ADS IN SUMMER. GAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHH!
well us here in the southern hemisphere enjoy a summer Christmas every year... so summer Christmas advertising doesn't invoke such outbursts...

How's the place like for spoken English?
If it's human,it most likely speaks English.
Well I meant the locals anyway, I didn't think English was the native tongue there.
Icelandic is our native tongue. But English has made a big break through here.

Ahhh, Christmas starts for me when snow begins to gather.
Nothing says Christmas like a snowy city with cheerful Christmas music playing.
I wish it was snowy already....
If I go with this, about 21st December.
2006. It never really snows in England. But my family starts on the 5th of December.

After Thanksgiving. Technically after black Friday since that's associated with mass consumerism and chaos and not Christmas. Although December or snow really drives the point home for me.

Edit: whenever I read the title it's in Jack Skellington's voice.

Christmas is meh for me exchange a few gifts and put on pretend plesantries for relatives I have not seen in over a year who just decided to *drop by* then the usual family gathering at some decent restraunt where I will proceed to get royaly hammered to make the night pass by as my relatives move to different tables in embarassment. Ahhh good times.

I haven't looked but are you from Czech Republic by chance?
Nice, this makes...carry the 1...8 different European countries I've been mistaken to be from in my life. Still some poor Italian who thinks I'm from Poland...long story.

To answer you, no sir, I come form the humble commonwealth of Kentucky. Why the Czech Republic though? Prague (Praha) is nice place, should go if you can.

It starts on December 1st because that's when the Advent calendar starts spawning goodies.

The day AFTER remembrance day... Because one should NEVER be thinking about Christmas carols while remembering our soldiers.

Please, at least have have decency to wait until Thanksgiving is over to talk about this shit.
Fucking. Agreed.

I loathe Christmas.. It's a glutton of a holiday. How it just shows up, uninvited, in the other holiday's months, and stays around 'till the last minute, eating all the cookies, until the sun comes back out....

Wait until I've finished my turkey damnit!

I have, it's a wonderful place...

I ask because they celebrate Christmas day on 24th Dec... Not sure why... And they have carp instead of turkey...weird huh?

You stated that Christmas begins and ends on the 24th so I thought you might have been Ceska.

Nevermind, you must have KFC instead of turkey no? Haw haw haw..../silliness

Good man, we are in agreement!

My family always celebrates on 24th, 25th is non event, goes back generations, maybe some ancestors in there are from that part of the world, wouldn't surprise me, half of Europe could claim me (not that they would). We eat friendship bread as custom, turkey is more Thanksgiving thing.

I have never had KFC, I have had homemade fried chicken in Kentucky.

Why do I get excited at the prospect of other peoples christmas's and not mine? Anyhoo, you never know, I believe Poland do it too so there's a good chance that tradition Comes from Europe...

Hah, remind me of French friend when I said I do not eat McDonalds. I'm a bad American, explains much of the confusion.
