Don't play those games, but I have to respect anyone who just says 'fuck it,' and abandons all pretenses and designs a game specifically for your boner.

Are they keeping the anti gravity, hypo, mine of their own breasts? I guess we don't know yet, or what else they are doing in it.

Never change, Japan. I'd have thought games like this would have disappeared into history, but it seems Japan is still holding on to the old ways.

Hey, as long as they don't try a pants-on-head stupid excuse for how it's totallyjustifiable, you'llfeelbadformockingityouguys malarky, I couldn't care less.

If the volleyball part is any good, it wouldn't be the first porn game I have for the gameplay.

I fear I have failed! I don't recognize those two girls on the cover!!! Okay, so I never got far in Dead or Alive 5, but I'm still familiar with the female cast members...mostly. At least on sight, if not totally remember their names. But who are those two? That's not Kasumi, is it? Because she doesn't look right. Hair is too pink.

Um...cool. Maybe? Guilty pleasure? Whatever. Can I have my Ninja Gaiden-style Ayane and Kasumi game after this please?

I could sort of see the appeal of these games if the girls in them didn't look like weird rubber people, but actual girls. All that increase of graphical power and they still look like they're from a PS2 game... Never change, Team Ninja. (As if you could.)

A porn game that you play for the gameplay... That has got to be a kind of insult right? It's like a unmentioned admonition that the porn isn't good enough.

Both of the previous DoA: Xtreme games have pretty much had the best volleyball gameplay of any game made - its pretty damn awesome.

Like actual girls, and not waifus?.... No thanks!

OT: The only DOA: Volleyball game I got was the very first one, which I got specifically for bonerific purposes. But it was actually pretty decent. The volleyball itself was actually really fun, and then all the minigames! I forgot how many hours I played... I think over 20 hours of it before I stopped? Probably even more than that, I'd say between 20-40 hours... Shit, that's more time than I put into Skyrim before I stopped playing it.

That being said, I'm surprised it's still going as a series. And that footage... yup, doesn't look like it's changed at all. I mean really, why would it? At this point though, I'd love to see the DOA dudes get a gratuitous sport game too.

Dead or Alive: Xtreme Turkish Oil Wrestling

Imagine playing Jan Lee through a season of Turkish Oil Wrestling, being treated to wonderful montages of nude mountaintop meditation, nude sunbathing, and playfully splashing through sexy turkish bogs; while nude. Then waking up in the morning for a fresh-bout of oil wrestling against Bass Armstrong. But you gotta do well, that $1,000,000 diamond studded banana hammock isn't going to earn itself.

If you don't like this game, don't buy it. Simple as that. No need for you to insult or stereotype people who buy games you don't like.

Yeah, hypothetical person that the poster was referring to, no need to be insulting!

Though honestly I don't think the DoA volleyball series is bad at all, at least they have a reason to be in bikinis. Would be nice to see a version with dudes, though

Did I say that gamers were that? No. What I said was that this game will fuel the stereotype of gamers that other people have.

Of course, kneejerk reactions like yours don't help anything either.

You were implying that gamers looking forward to this particular game are "basement-dwelling socially-lifeless manchildren who objectify women." I find it utterly hilarious how you lecture me later on that "kneejerk reactions don't help anything", and yet you have no problem posting such insulting stereotype-ridden language like that. Look, I don't care what games you like or don't like, but insulting fans of games you don't like is just pointless and makes people unable to take you seriously.

The Rogue Wolf said:

So what if it does? Why should we care about what other people think of gamers? What business is it of ours? Gamers don't have to fulfill anyone's expectations of what sort of lives they "should" lead. If some people are going to look down on gamers because of their own negative stereotypes, then that's their own damn problem.

Should this game not exist? Should gamers who conform to any negative stereotype of gamers make themselves invisible until those "other people" say otherwise? I know you're going to deny that, but that's the implication I got from your original post.

I don't like developers that re-release the same game every year or two with minimal changes (CoD, most annual sports games, etc). Should I insult or stereotype gamers who like those games? Should I barge onto threads for fans of those games and leave a snide comment to the effect of "And then we'll turn around and wonder why gamers are stereotyped as gullible lemmings who will buy the same game again and again."?

The Rogue Wolf said:

And as I said earlier, condescending, passive-aggressive insults like yours don't help anything either. So spare me your lectures about who is "helping" anything. You're the one who started this whole conversation by making such an unprovoked and uncalled-for implication.

I hope we get a pc release (I don't have either of those consoles). I also hope it isn't full of ludicrously priced dlc. Granted, after the pc release of doa 5 I'm not sure I'd trust them to do a good job on the port. Still waiting on the online play.

I actually find the DOAX series to be really relaxing (and not in a wanky kind of way): there's just something nice about a game filled with beautiful women, fun music, and low-pressure gameplay. It looks and plays like a vacation.

If it comes down to it, this might actually push me over the edge on a ps4: the doa games are what made me buy a 360, after all.
