The Matrix: Reloaded and
The Matrix: Revolutions - Were they as good or as groundbreaking as the first film? No, of course not. Were they even half as bad as people bitched? No, not even remotely.
Star Wars: Episode 1: The Phantom Menace - There are several reasons this film is the best of the prequel trilogy (and, as I'll attest, better in parts than
Return of the Jedi was in some respects.), not the least of which is a complete absence of Hayden Christensen.
The Hobbit Trilogy - No, they weren't like
Lord of the Rings. No, they weren't superb films by any stretch. But on the same token, they weren't nearly as bad as fans and critics said they were. They were still decent, light-hearted fantasy adventure.
Tron: Legacy - I'll be the first to tell you the faults of this film. And make no mistake, it really was a bad film. But I loved the hell out of it and I still say it wasn't as bad as many thought it was.
Bioshock Infinite - While I'm not a fan, I've never understood how anyone could genuinely claim this game was
bad. It's just...a silly claim.

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.
I actually think that's the best one out of the prequel trilogy, mainly because Hayden isn't in it. Yes, the dialogue is still pretty hard to listen to, but the action is good, Hayden's whining isn't there, that lightsaber battle at the end is bonkers, and Hayden isn't there. I will happily watch this movie over the other two any day.
Did I mention that Hayden isn't there? I mentioned that, right?
And don't even get me started on Revenge of the Sith. That's my reverse of this thread. Everyone else praises that movie as the best out of the prequels, but I think it's the worst.
Had me until the last point. I still say
Episode 2 is the worst. There are many reasons, but above all is that the film committed the worst atrocity a film like
Star Wars could commit...
It was dull.
For what is supposed to be an action-oriented adventure series,
Episode 2 had the gall to be boring.
Episode 3, as bad as it was, at least kept a brisk pace.
