The Legacy of Kain series (here I go being a broken record again). So many plot holes, and the gameplay was decidedly average. But fuck all of that. You got to play as a dead(er) vampire who uses a lightsaber to devour souls instead of blood.

I couldn't agree more =D Some of my favourite games ever, with some of the most convoluted plot lines I've seen to this day. Seriously. I don't even know what was happening most of the time.

Personally, I'll always love the .Hack series. Sub par gameplay (mad button mashing), an odd and confusing plot, poor balance and they took what was one game and divided it into four. Regardless of this, I loved it. Every damn minute.

Kannazuki No Miko is my favourite anime, and God knows there are better made series. But then, there is no accounting for taste, especially in instances where one's reaction is so unpredictable, as has been my experience.

I suppose the same could be said for Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30, my favourite videogame. I've played better everything since but, like the example listed above, it remains lord of it's own domain regardless. I guess you can't objectively judge how "good" something is, there is just taste and any other bias', anyone who tells you otherwise is a colossal wanker.

I really liked Heroes, the TV show. It's a shame that guy that took over in season 2 fucked it up so badly. I mean . . he really took an amazing show with a great cast and an awesome concept and turned it into a crappy discombobulated mess that was rode on the coat tails of the first season.

when compared to say somthing like "the core" or what ever..I forgot what it was called (they drill into earths core) or twister....the causal veiwer knows it bullshit

Might & Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven.

It was an old numbercrunchy RPG whose graphics were rather average already when it came out in 1998, whose story made little sense (devils from space invade high fantasy setting), and with balance issues up the wazoo (mainly the very early access to the flight spell, and that the light magic buffs were absurdly overpowered, especially when combined with blaster rifles, allowing you to take down a golden dragon in less than a second).

But I still loved it, and love it still.

game: Final Fantasy VII as a series - hipsters hate it, and most gamers say its an overrated piece of shit. I see lots of faults and plot holes but despite all of that I love the series (Before Crisis, Crisis Core, VII, Maiden of the Lifestream, Case Barret, Case Tifa, Case Denzel, Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus)

anime: Tengenn Toppa Gurren Lagann - as a mecha lover this series has become the new staple that brought back my love for the genre. I had pretty much lost all hope on the genre but TTGL brought it back stronger than ever I hadn't been this into mecha since the last Getter Robo series. Still most /m/en hate the series and call it for what it is, a re-telling of Getter Robo manga, and while I agree the series was always meant to be just that a throwback to the days of good mecha shows

music: Panda & Brand New - a lot of people consider both bands to be utter shit and emo pop. I'll admit they both started out that way but they've evolved and de-evolved themselves so much that I feel like they've turned to different bands altogether. These 2 bands defined my youth and my turning into an adult so hate them or love them I don't care I'll keep listening to them until they stop making music

Yeah, I very much enjoyed this game too. Wasn't expecting much out of it but when I was first introduced to the time aspect of things I found myself hooked and wanting to find out more. Very fun game despite its flaws.

Oh and KotOR II, it's buggy, the story doesn't make sense but I love it!

It's really well written and far greyer in terms of morality. I'd say, despite my love for them both, that it's my favourite of the KotOR series. I'm just glad modders released a restoration mod.

Tekken 6 is one of my favorite games for the PS3. The Scenario Campaign mode is an unmitigated disaster. The online mode suffers from lag, even on the best connections. Worse yet, there is no offline ranking past 1st Dan; Either you suffer through the online mode or content yourself with defeating Tekken Gods in offline Ghost Battles without the possibility of ever obtaining that status. (As a reference point, Tekken 6 for the PSP permitted offline ranking.) But I don't care. I love this game. I played it to death on the PSP and I am not any less enthusiastic about playing it on the PS3, ranking or no ranking.

Barren Realms Elite (BRE)
A 24hrs/turn schedule, non-existent learning curve, purely textual interface (we're talking dial-in BBS ASCII text... closest thing to a GUI is the planet-busting/fleet-eradicating Gooey Bomb that would generally bankrupt the players on BOTH sides of the conflict), and you simply can't find it playable anywhere anymore.
But I put in MONTHS of my life playing this game with my best friend. I'd build the peaceful producer that would look SO tasty to other players, and he'd play the military might to utterly eradicate anyone who sent their fleet to raid my defenseless-looking lands. Every new match we'd change our names and do it again.

Sonic Adventure. Sonic is never going to work in 3D, but I have always loved this game. The worlds are really vibrant, the soundtrack is amazing albeit cheesy as Hell, and the final fight against Chaos is still one of the best examples of cinematic gaming I've seen.

As for TV, I love NCIS. The characters are varied if occasionally cliched, and some dialogue is genuinely funny, even though the show always walks a fine line between forward-thinking plots and outright post-9/11 racism.

Music: Dragonforce. I've always thought of them as the Christmas panto of metal; as long as you don't take them seriously it's alot of fun.

game: black & white (I just love it, even if it didnt deliver on what it was supposed to promise), with heroes 3 taken out of the question since I just cant find any flaws in it... I need to find that CD...

I know of a flaw with Heroes 3! The sprite for the upgraded Pyre structure in the Conflux castle is misshapen. Also, you -could- make a really good argument for some castle types being statistically inferior to others. Like, say, the Fortress type.
Still one of my favourite games ever though.

as far as I care, the original heroes 3, expansion-less, is the way it's supposed to be! (and I always took the fortress to be the second worst in the game, really)

for some reason, I always felt that the stronghold was the worst...
I mean, I love some of the units there (especially the wolf raiders), but the overall strength of it always always felt lacking...

Butbutbut, Stronghold is one of the best cities! And Wolf Raiders are their second-worst units against CPU opponents! Am confuse.
You get one of the best heroes in the game (Crag Hack), and if you're lucky, you can build the truly monstrous Behemoths on the second day. Stronghold are awesome!

well, their ranged are just horrible (the orcs have almost no damage and the cyclops are as good as they could have been as a sixth tier, and most of their melee arent that good (ogres are too slow to do something and, unlike the dendroids, they wont get anything from finally attacking someone except doing normal damage)...
maybe it's just me, but I always found them to be extremely weak compared to anyone else

and wolf raiders are just awesome because, in addition to the possibility of having a large number attack twice in a row, they're just awesome! it's goblins riding wolfs!
