I would so play that David Bowie one, that is a fantastic idea.
Now, it is just a pity that Hasbro slapped Fighting Is Magic with a C&D.

MUGEN? You can do pretty much "anyone vs anyone" in that.Tim Chuma said:Isn't there a fighting game where it was nothing but custom characters? I can't seem to remember it at the moment.
Hey, I'm not exactly a fan of anime and japanese stuff either. In fact I hated them. But Blazblue, which is bassically a playable anime, is good enough that I can get into it despite my biases, and I'm thinking of checking out FMA or Super Sentai or something. If it can convert me, I'm sure that Yhatzee can at least tolerate it.NameIsRobertPaulson said:He won't. Why?Gearhead mk2 said:snip

He hates everything about games like BlazBlue, which is a shame, because it's an awesome game.
Probably, still I would like to have a good laugh at myself and hear pertinent criticism.LordTerminal said:It would lead to him bad-mouthing it and a swarm of angry fans that regularly watch the weekly Salty Cupcakes stream starting a riot. The thing is, any fighting game that's not Street Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom, or Tekken is automatically a "B-list" fighting game with the exceptions of maybe KoF and GG (that's the respective shorthand for "King of Fighters" and "Guilty Gear" for the uninitiated). The reasoning's rather simple: all the other games simply don't pull in the same numbers of fans as the aforementioned 3 "major" games; hell, the main events, so to speak, at tournaments are always either SSF4AE 2012 or UMvC3.Gearhead mk2 said:What about Blazblue? The first game in that series came out 2008, so it's not exactly brand new, but it's an original fighting game IP that was made in this generation. I daresay that Blazblue: Calamity Trigger and Street Fighter 4 are responsible for fighting games coming back for this gen."There have been no fighting games with all-new characters (in triple-A releases, at least) for quite some time..."
The problem with Yahtzee's reviews of fighting games is that just about every time he's done them (sure, he's only reviewed, like... 3), he comes off as a complete idiot. I know he's not one, you know he's not one, most everyone else on the forum knows he not an idiot, but his implied inability to grasp even the simpler mechanics is painful to listen to. Sure, he pretty much only talks shit about the shit he thinks is shit, but to most of us who play fighting games on a regular basis, most of his assertions cause so many eye-rolls that I fear my eyes are gonna unscrew out of my head with such force that they're gonna blow a couple of holes through my monitor.Grahav said:Probably, still I would like to have a good laugh at myself and hear pertinent criticism.LordTerminal said:It would lead to him bad-mouthing it and a swarm of angry fans that regularly watch the weekly Salty Cupcakes stream starting a riot.
