I'm gonna say my brothers former band.
The Damage Addict Orchestra.
Recognize it? No, you don't!

They did 5 years time. Very good band IMO.Parallel Streaks said:A bit obscure: Noah and the Whale
They're the joke Welsh rap group aren't they?Spudgun Man said:Goldie Lookin Chain
This made me laugh pretty hard. Most people who really know about punk in the 80s will know about Crass. They're pretty big in terms of punk.DannyBoy451 said:Also: I'd wager nobody here has ever heard of Crass.
Most people think of them as a joke apart form themselves and most of their fans, but then again its the only stuff of its calibre i'll go near.UpcountryGecko said:They did 5 years time. Very good band IMO.Parallel Streaks said:A bit obscure: Noah and the Whale

I'd love to see them live (and apparently their coming to Montreal on Nov. 5) but the only thing any of my friends ever listen to are those crappy pop/hip-hop/dance songs by one-hit-wonders they play on the radio, unfortunately.silver scribbler said:You are very welcome. Listen to their older stuff too, particularly Nancy the Tavern Wench and Wolves of the Sea. If they ever play somewhere near you, I would highly recommend them live.lasherman said:Wow, I listened to about thirty seconds of their song Keelhauled and fell in love with them, thank you for listing these guyssilver scribbler said:Alestorm, pretty sure not many people on here will know them.
Yeah, back when Laura Marling was still a back-up singer.UpcountryGecko said:They did 5 years time. Very good band IMO.Parallel Streaks said:A bit obscure: Noah and the Whale

They're a pretty kickass indie/rock band.

Punk gets far more obscure than Crass. Sorry if I sound like an asshole, I really don't mean to be crass here. If you wanted obscure punk bands try bands like:
Genetic Control, The Antics, Career Soldiers and the like.
I wasn't really saying they were obscure obscure, more that I'd be surprised if people on the Escapist had heard of them.DannyBoy451 said:But yeah, they are probably the most well known anarchist punk band, so I guess I underestimated the Escapist.
I think I know a blackstreet boys song called No Diggity. The group that did it was called Blackstreet so if this is a different group then what you were thinking of then sorry.That_Which_Isnt said:Blackstreet Boys
It's a real shame as well bearing in mind the quality of the two albums they've made as well.Parallel Streaks said:Yeah, back when Laura Marling was still a back-up singer.UpcountryGecko said:They did 5 years time. Very good band IMO.Parallel Streaks said:A bit obscure: Noah and the Whale
They're obscure unless you are in to the folk scene, ask an average person on the street who they are and it's very likely they won't know.
Ah that must suck. You, my friend, need new mates with good taste in music!lasherman said:Snip.
