My friend made me a list of PS2 games to get, since my 360 broke a while back (even though I barely played it), and since I always bring it to my Grandma's house on holidays to play with all my cousins, I brought my PS2.

Holy shit I fell in love again.

So I'm trying to catch up on lost time and buy tons of good PS2 games.

I'm currently searching for Ico, and getting SotC for free from this girl I know, so those two don't need to be listed.

So yeah, good PS2 games (and why)?

Jak series/ Ratchet & Clank series. If you haven't already bought them, they're some of the greatest 3D platforming games of all time.

Yeah I have Jak 1 & 2, and all of the R&C games with the exclusion of the PS3 ones and Deadlocked (I think that's what it was called).

I didn't buy it since I rented it way back when, and beat it, so I didn't see a need to buy it.

Manhunt, if you can stomach it.

But you need to follow the directions given (at the beginning, before starting) and play it in the perfect atmosphere - makes it so much scarier.

If you have to ask why, you haven't played it yet.
I'm still only 15, so I barely have any money (let alone a job at all), so if you could provide some reasons why that'd be great... I'm not going to go just buy something without knowing why it's fun, only to end up hating it (like I hated Kingdom Hearts).

Well, I would suggest Persona 3 and 4, but you didn't specify what genres you like and they're JRPGs. Seems you're more interested in action/adventure and platformers. Can't be much help there, other than to suggest Shinobido. Not great, but lots of fun once you get good at it. Messing with guards, hiding corpses, running along rooftops.... wait a minute, this is starting to sound suspiciously like Assassins Creed. Anyway, I never hear anybody mention this game, so I figured I should.

EDIT: Ninja'ed on Persona. Well played, Worgen. The day is yours, but I will beat you to the punch another time. My digital velocipede is nearly done.

Yeah I really dislike JRPGs and "anime" styled games, but I'm giving P3 and P4 a chance since my buddy keeps talking about them and they seem good.

Star Wars Battlefront 1 & 2. Both great games...
GTA III. Yes, III... It's just so nostalgic... I still play it...
The Jak games have been mentioned. Hell yes, the first three are the best games ever...
Burnout 1, 2, and 3... 1 was revolutionary, 2 was fun as hell, and 3 introduced takedowns... Don't bother with Burnout Revenge, it loses its touch...
For now that's it from me.

If I were you, I'd grab the third one too, as it's another top-notch game. You might also want to check out the Sly Cooper series; I don't own any of the games, but what I've played of them is pretty fun.

I fucking love Sly Cooper.

I only have the first one, but I really want to finish the series since I just beat the game like last week (I sucked at games when I was a kid, and basically quit on the first stage before I even got to the boss).

Keep it up guys :)

I have very few PS2 games, and the ones I do have REALLY suck (mind you I was like 7 or so when I got the PS2, so I bought really kiddie games like Shrek and WWE games).
