Who cares if it's niche or not? The show is called the 'Video Game Awards', not the 'Video Games With Marketing Budgets Big Enough To Buy Ad Time On Our Network Awards'. VGWMBBE2BATOONA might be a terrible acronym, but that's still no excuse. A nomination in the indie category would have been fine, especially since Journey didn't even belong there in the first place!William Dickbringer said:

The point I was going for was that Borderlands 2 actually beat what many people now consider to be one of the definitive shooters.
That and I really don't see much of a distinction between CoD titles. But I don't actually play them so I could be way off base for all I know.
...But seriously I really don't care either way. I'm just glad Borderlands 2 won, it deserves it.
The orchestra was cool, Samuel L. is getting a bit stale, and Tenacious D can go die in a fire. I do not want to hear their renditions of classic songs with modified lyrics. It's not entertaining - it's loathesome watching those 2 guys on stage polishing their egos for all to see. All in all, below average. Maybe if it were 30 minutes longer, with more awards presented, and the guests had more to do in front of a camera than to fit a stereotype, it might be more entertaining. I am looking forward to the new Castlevania though.

the vga was a little better than last year's. The award show made some improvements, as in some of the winners, but everything on stage is not watchable for more than five minutes. but that is why youtube is there, to show us the trailers we want to see.

Honestly? Better than last year. They still have some ways to go, though, mainly that they should be about the BEST games, not the most popular ones. This is a problem that I have with contests like this in general though.
I don't have any particular problem with the winners, though, except for two. I mean, The Walking Dead was good. Half Life 2 was good. Journey was good. Persona 4 Arena was FREAKING AWESOME. However, I honestly think The Last Story or Xenoblade Chronicles should have won Best Wii/Wii U game, not that Mario Bros. was bad, of course, and it's an absolute atrocity that Persona 4 Golden wasn't even nominated for Best RPG, regardless of it being an updated rerelease.
