At first I was thinking 'gender wars' as in women's rights, but with guns.
However, it's more of a 'red rover, red rover, I call bitter, lonely, misanthropist over'.
I don't care about your love life. Hell, I don't even care about mine. If the people around you are representations of Spike or Cosmo, then stop doing whatever is making you suck so much. Hakuna Matata, don't worry be happy, blah, blah, this is an internet forum, not Dr. Phil. I've got no time for this, I'm too busy eating microwavable dinners, punching things and watching NASCAR.
I know, I know. The people around me are nice, because they are the people I keep around me. Unfortunately, I find myself unable to ignore sh**ty people or simple stupidity.
Sorry, this is totally unrelated to the thread at hand, but...why do you censor yourself? Because every time I see sh**ty I think in my head shitty, and I'm pretty sure that's what you thought when you typed it too. So, er, why?

I agree, gender wars are stupid and based on meaningless generalizations... there, don't shout at me.
Because I just know the moment I stop doing that the mods are gonna crack down on uncensored swearing.

That, and although I'm pretty sure most adult people aren't shockingly offended by it, some people might be.

I'm sorry to hear about your personal problems, you must really be hurting inside. I sure hope someday you get better and rejoin society.
Please you think I'd want to, your society is so degenerate I'm surprised it exists at all. You marginalize for the sake of marginalizing, the media is composed of fearmongers, and every argument is invariably skewed in one direction based entirely on outdated information. Stephen Colbert is one of the bes sources of information out there, that says a lot. Why would I want to join a society that takes ad homenom as an argument over facts. The fact of the matter is that everything society does is either stupid, disgusting or both. At least you're getting better, but you still have a long way to go.
Please go on. This is all very informative.

Ah, no. Pointing at your mom is not a very solid argument against women. It just sounds like you have issues with your mom and are projecting them on all women. It's ridiculous.
But is it not the mother's responsiblity to ensure that her offspring grow up with a halthy a view of women.

What are you a psychiatrist, alright here it goes. You know how often I've heard anything intelligent coming from your 'society', never. Not once. I once called the whole argument on child-rearing black and white thinking, and do you know what the only feed bak I got on it was.

What does colour have to do with anything. People like you should never have been born.
No, I did not make that up, that was the first response. I rarely get one any better than that. Everyone thinks that quoting classical literature is an actual point. BULL-SHIT. I very well know that 90% of you have never read half the books you seem to think prove your point and even if you did it still doesn't matter. Ray Bradbury thought his book Fahrenheit 451 was the logical continuation of the invention of television, but it's been 60 years and books are still legal, what does that tell you. And don't come to me with that whole "it's about censorship" crap, it's not, bradbury stated so numerous times yet no one believed him. Then they "corrected" and told him he was mistaken about his own book. Does that seem reasonable to you.

Holy shit this thread took a hard left turn into crazy, didn't it? This is amazing.

As for the rest of it, what's with all the overstated misanthropy? Misanthropy isn't cool, guys. It's incredibly fucking boring.

They don't. In all liklihood it's your own fault for your inability to see past your biases. That you even tried to use your mother, a single woman, as some kind of convincing example hints at issues with your ability to form an unbiased assessment.
At least I gave something other than my thesis. Your whole argument is based on the presumption that you are inherently infallible.

But anyway, no my argument isn't based on that. In fact you're giving me evidence that you lack the ability to view things without incredible bias. Nowhere did I rest my argument on my own authority. Yet you came up with that bullshit because you simply can't think critically and without extreme bias.
You really think you're in a position to say within 30 minutes of saying this.

I have no idea what kind of logic trap you think you just caught him in, but this doesn't make any sense.

Honestly, he's 100% right. Your OP in this thread, and your attitude in general, displays a literally astonishing level of seething misogyny, supported by little more than your own anecdotal experience and a raging confirmation bias. That you're presumably unaware of it is even more shocking, and more than a little worrying.

I honestly thought you were trolling for shock effect, guy. It was that over the top.

Yes.

Now it may be hard for you to grasp, but making an actual argument involves pointing out the specific elements that you think prove your point.
That's exactly what my original statement was.

You said gorram. Hee.

^ That's about the extent of any useful additions to this topic. Because out of every single negative thing you or anyone else has stated about the topic, the opposite exists, and in some force. Maybe everyone involved just needs to get out more.

Yes, kick the can like the captcha says! KICK IT!

Gender wars are the new flavour of the month this time...makes me miss all the pedophilia threads from last month...

Anyway yes, the girls are leave the boys alone and the boys are too leaves the girls alone...Oh my goodness I have just advocated abstinence.

Maybe we can invent some kind of "conversation condom" for when the two sexes (or genders) interact with each other.

Or, we could start judging each other based on the person themselves, rather than genetically inherited features or their behavior from society constraints and upbringing....yeah...I'll go start work on the "conversation condom".
yeah, but that still won't stop the all the Gender AIDS. Lost my best friend to that. Now all he does is rant about the ladder theory or something.

the problem is everyone is biased towards their own gender...its a very hard thing to overcome..hell Im guilty of it
Is it? I just try to avoid making assumptions about women in general. And men for that matter. Other than that I suppose not being as aware of issues that do not impact me directly might be a problem in regards to that. But overall, why would it be hard? What part of it is hard to not do? Though hey, I can't really judge how successfully I've overcome any bias since said bias would skew my perspective so maybe it is harder than I think.
I'm biased, I know I am, though I try not to be...I think there is a very angry feminist inside that wants to claw her way out and slice of a mans balls (not weird at all right?)

I think somone here made a generalisation about women, to which I promptly refuted..after some back and fourth I realised this person was female (I think)

I then realised i had pegged them as some guy on the internet who veiwed women as some kind of alien species, It kind of threw me off, would i have replyed like I had had I known they were female?

anyway...what annoys me is that to SOME people, being male is seen as some "default" state of beng in all things , being female is a devation of all that is "standard/normal"

I mean Im just like you guys, I hate being pegged as "this" or "that"
