So this is pretty tragic. I'm amazed the dispatcher managed to stay professional while having this conversation. Thoughts? Anything?

He lived in a "Luxurious gated community".
Was home schooled (so probably no bullies right?).
Just because he felt like it?
Did he have mental problems?, I mean to just suddenly decide to murder your mother and sister just seems so random.

Welp at least he can now look forward to decades in prison. Life for him just got a shitload more complicated.

This is insane, its so surreal, listening to it I half expect the kid to give in and say its a joke or something. The woman receiving the call is amazing, managing to keep in control while talking to a monster. I hope I don't sound horrible here but as tragic as this is, its extremely fascinating.

The scary thing is just how monotone he is on the phone.
He sounds as if he is ordering a pizza with so little emotion... it is seriously chilling. The way he just stays on the phone with the woman who is keeping her cool so well but inside is probably thinking; "This isn't just a normal day in the office."

The normal reaction would be to panic and flee wouldn't it?

Crimes like this just make me sit back and question 'evil'. I have always believed nobody is born evil but it is the environment and society that corrupts them. This kid lived well and said himself he wasn't angry with the two individuals so just why?

Shoulda killed himself immediately after. Thanks to an amazing judicial process he'll get tried, might get life in prison. It's Texas so he has a great chance of detting the death penalty. Not a fast enough process for this though.

Why are people being so damning of him when they don't know his situation?
He probably has some kind of mental disorder.

I too lament the slowness with which Texas acts upon executing people. It's terrible to think that a few less innocent people might be put to death due to hasty and sloppy proceedings and how that inconveniences people crying for blood in this case.

Better to let a hundred innocent men die than to let this one guy live.

Because we're Americans. And Americans have a punishment fetish. We don't even care if the right person gets punished, so long as someone is punished. Preferably to death.

The freakiest part was how calm he was. No one in their right mind could murder two family members, then call the police and remain as emotionless as him. There's definitely something wrong with him.

That seems a bit extreme, but something tells me you might be generalising a but.

Because he's fucked in the head?
Well done Sherlock.
Why is he fucked in the head? I can't think of too many people deciding one day it's time to kill your family without motive.

Honey, virtually any time you talk about a large body of people, you are generalising at least "a bit."

Thing is, as Americans we overwhelmingly support these things. So it doesn't matter if individuals do or don't, the culture, the American culture does. We are quick to cry for blood.

I suspect this might be because we live in a culture that has painted ever street corner, every shadow, every bush with dangerous men ready to take our liberty if we don't have shooty-shooty death sticks. A culture that values the ability to inflict harm above all else. We are a violent, death-loving nation as a whole.

And I say this notwithstanding the fact that I'm one of those hippie pacifist librul commie homer seckuals that is threatening liberty by simply existing. So technically, I'm generalising myself.

*facepalm*

If you're going to act like you know what you're talking about, make sure you KNOW what you are TALKING about. I'm sick of people spreading misinformation based off obvious personal bias.

OT: Holy shit. There is OBVIOUSLY something deeply wrong with this kid. Maybe he was born a sociopath and can't feel emotions? Either way, a healthy human being would have been attached to his/her family emotionally.
