Well, as a Halo fan myself, I see NO resemblance in Avatar to Halo. Two completely different things.

Not to mention that the basic idea of Avatar is basically the same as Pocahantas or Dances With Wolves. It's an old story in a shiny new 3D wrapper. But I don't blame him for criticizing the fanboys; Halo is not the Alpha and Omega of entertainment.
Style, not story. Dances and Pocahantas look nothing like Avatar. Or Aliens, for that matter.
Style is the actual things on screen, story is how the movie progresses. So yes, same story.

The man puts his own name to the movie he makes. Then makes up a fallacy about some contoversy that doesn't exist. He just wants attention, don't give it to him.

Avatar has a lot of things it's copied ideas from, but Halo? STFU fools I bet they're the same ones that think every fps ever made is copying Halo

Lol yeah halo fanboys just keep proving their lack of inteligence dont they? played halo saw avatar the ships look similar the humans have some very VERY slight similarities, but come on aliens have like NOTHING in common except from both being blue, they use bows not lazers and they have animals and a version of Avendesora instead of a giant city in space.

Interesting... There is no way that Halo can be compared to Avatar from a story telling standpoint, seeing as they are two different mediums, with two different intents. With the only part that is reaching the "ripped off" status is some of the military designs, this actually reveals what the majority of the Halo fanbase are actually fans of, and unfortunately it has nothing to do with telling a good story.
The fans of Halo are in love with military design, not epic storylines.
With that in mind I can see why they would be all worked out. Seeing their Halo dropships in an anti-military movie must be like seeing the Slave I show up in the next Star Trek movie, or the Millennium Falcon docking at the Hubble Space Lab.

I never even made that comparison the entire time while the movie has been out in cinemas.

What's next? Doom is a ripoff of Halo because it's a science fiction shooter?

Yeah, just watch the movie Aliens then think of 20 ways you can make the story worse and 5 ways you can dumb it down and there you have it.

I personally think everyone needs to shut up about Avatar. "Oh noes, a popular movie, let's say bad things about it and claim it is racist and stuff!" "Yeah dude! That is like awesomist idea ever dude! Righteous!"

Bothersome.
Hating on shit people have never read/seen/played is the new thing. Twilight, Avatar and Modern Warfare 2 are examples of all cases where three supposedly 'hated' things are suspiciouly popular.
I did see it, so I can hate it, right? Actually, I don't hate it, just don't think its the biggest thing since the invention of the Internet... It is not even the best movie of the year.

There are two sides to the problem. Fans that hate things because they are popular (therefore mainstream, and not elitist enough) and fans that love things so much that will take any amount of criticism (not matter how truth, fair or well articulated) as a personal insult. I still haven't decided which one is worst.

The only simularity between Halo and Avatar I saw was that the helicopters looked the same.
