FUKUOKA ?

A 41-year-old public elementary school teacher was formally reprimanded by the Fukuoka City Board of Education on Tuesday for slapping 41 fifth grade elementary school students on April 27 after they failed to follow rules on what they could and couldn?t take on their school excursion.

The school in Jonan Ward had set a rule before the excursion on April 24 that the students were only allowed to eat snacks distributed by the teachers, but many students were found to have eaten other snacks brought to school.

All of the fifth grade students were in a group gym class on April 27 when the teacher asked those who had eaten other snacks to stand and line up. He reportedly told them: ?You think we can have gym class today under these kinds of circumstances?? before running down the line slapping each of the students once on their cheeks with his open hand. None of the kids were injured in the incident.

The teacher told the board that he lost his cool when nearly half the fifth grade failed to follow the rules laid down before the excursion.

You would never see something like this happen is the States. Erm......*coughs*

Wow. That's terrible. Should have gave the kids detention or whatnot. Instead, he loses his job.

Wow, talk about going over the top.
The kids should have jumped him and mobbed the son of a *****, see how he likes a slap or two for not following the rules.

1. Why are you using Thudermisers Avatar of the relic boards?
2. So? We need to get back to corporal punishment, then push for capital.

I blame the kids. How could they not follow that rule? It's not that hard. I don't remember even being allowed to have snacks at all in my elementary.

I know it's awful and all, but I cannot help but laugh.

Just picture this teacher getting a running start and then running down the line like it's some audition for the Three Stooges.

THE SNACKOLUTION HAS BEGUN!

But seriously, I don't know how 41 kids can even collaborate on such a thing. Was it a large coincidence or what?

Or the teacher's snacks are just that bad.

Shit, I used to go to Catholic school. A little slap on the face would be welcome compared to the whippins I got a few times. It could have been worse...... he could have, KARATE CHOPPED THEM!!!!

This is why America is so bloody freaking great! -Raises American flag and begins to salute.-

Sorry, excuse the brainwash chip.

In all seriousness though, this isn't that bad. Not like anyone died, or anything. At least this is better than that Chinese kid being beaten to death for "running too slow."

Heh, like a Canadian insult.

OT: I think thats proper, no one ever stepped out of line when my dad was in school. Do you know why? because they would have to face the yard stick. I blame the reason kids behave like monkeys now days on that they are not disciplined. When I got in trouble my school called my parents who would pick me up after school, ground me, and when we got home they would spank me. Im a better person for it, and I thank them for doing so. While it may have been over the line for the teacher to slap the children, there was probably little alternative in the way of punishment.
