After being a teacher in japan I'm not surprised by this story. And believe me if any of you were teachers you would change your hippy tune about corporal punishment. This teacher is now the only hero I have! Fucking classic! All the better because it was slaps. How fucking shameful is that to a student? Pimp hand, *****!

Well, slaps wouldn't work in our school, cause the damn system is corrupted. I can't tell you the number of times I got in trouble for saying something outside of school. (My school has this whole policy if you get into a fight or something outside of you school, you get punishment inside of school...it also works if you tell someone off.) I also got knocked in the head by a school dean because I said shit after getting stung in the arm by a bee...trust me, America isn't the best in the world.

I feel bad for the kids cause it won't really do anything for them. It only embarrasses them and makes them want revenge.

Slapping of the face IS a bit excessive, but not that far off from the punishments I got at school as a kid which includes the yard stick (either to the hand or the buttocks. The former hurts like hell). But hey, we grew up to be a disclipined bunch. What does detention ever do except induce boredom? Does writing "I will treat a textbook with respect" (or something like that) ever got into a student's brain?
