Jewish court sentences dog to death by stoning

Courts are a legal entities. If it did not have approval from, and the backing of the government it would have been shut down long ago, because attempting to enforce its decisions would have included criminal actions (in this case cruelty to animals). This court is 20 years old; it's well established, not a fly by night group of nutjobs meeting in a broom closet.

It's not a "court" in the sense you are using the term, I already said this. It's a Jewish religious court, they have existed literally everywhere with a Jewish community. They basically work in the same way as a Shariah court.

You mean all those other courts from the Middle East that sentence people (including rape victims) to lashings and death by stoning? I'll grant that the word 'court' really isn't appropriate to describe them, but 'inquisition' isn't really used these days and most of the words I would like to use are ban inducing on this forum.

I should've known that using "Sharia" was a bad idea, westerners are just terrified of it nowadays. If you seriously don't get it still, I don't feel like explaining it again.

No please, defend the institutions that demand lashings for offensive teddy bear names and having the audacity to be raped. I really want to hear this.

Sharia courts have done exactly those things in recent history; I can dig up reports if you insist on it. You defended(?) the Jewish religious court by comparing it to Sharia courts. So either you were making an attack on the Jewish court without being clear about it or were implying that Sharia courts are perfectly acceptable things to have around. If it's the former then we've been arguing with each other about something we agree on; if it's the latter I stand by my last statement.

I was simply describing what it is, I'm making no judgment on either of them.
